I'd love to go, Terry but it always falls on the same weekend as the Sping Car Sow at Duxford museum. I organise the stand there for the Mustang club, so have to attend. I'm considering passing this responsibility on to somebody else next year, so. . . . you never know.

If anyone fancies a trip to Norfolk, I have a hardtop you can have for £85.00 (collection only). It will fit in the back of a standard Transit. The top is in pretty good nick, but will require new gas rams and handle / lock for the rear glass window. Text / call 07889-777103 if interested.

I have just bought a few bits and bobs to get the RV project moving again. Problem is, my Triumph takes priority. Next job on that is new fork seals. Next job on the RV is some fibreglass fabrication. Would love to think that the RV will be under way again in a couple of months, but we'll see. The windscreen frame was a complete mess on the RV, so it's now been completely removed. I have to repair the top of the body tub where the frame was screwed on. It will then be fitted with a brand new, hinged, Jeep CJ7 one, which I now have. John

finally does anyone know if the RV mouldings were taken from an original jeep? They are pretty good - and just maybe Jeep doors would fit..... Yes, the body moulds were taken from a CJ7 but Jeep doors won't fit because the Eagle windscreen frame is shorter and set at a different angle. John.

Have you got the distributor 180 degrees out?

Welcome Richard. One other thing that definitely need consideration is, does it have a V5c with a correct Eagle description? Getting one registered today is not as straightforward as it used to be.

If you still have points ignition, setting the timing should be pretty straightforward. . . I seem to remember doing it with a transistor radio, anyone else? . . . :-)

Welcome Nick. There are a lot of us here with RV projects in various stages of completion. My main problem at the moment is motivation. I really need a new windscreen frame but it looks like I'll end up trying to do something with the original. Perhaps when the sun comes out, I'll find the inspiration.

Excellent! Good luck with finding a good "SS" project. Mine's an RV. It's slow progress at the moment, but I will get it done eventually. To many other things taking my time at the moment.

Cheers Crazy Pete!! I have all the skill and ability to build a kit car (I currently build trikes in my spare time), the only thing I don't have is space for building one, so I'm looking for one already on the road or ready for MOT to go on the road. Rare ro find I know, but such is circumstance. I currently own 2 trikes, both bike based, a volksrod (hot rod made from a bug), Ford Mustang fox body, and a classic Honda Aerodeck, so I'm a complete petrol head. A FOX MUSTANG !!! Me too. Make sure (if you haven't already), to visit the "Fox Doctors UK" Facebook page. We are all going to Brands Hatch in June. Are you coming? :-) John

I'm not saying that this RV isn't worth £6000 Peter, development costs, labour and materials means it must be worth it but, what I'm saying is, I just don't think anyone would be prepared to pay that sort of money for it (especially if there's no weather gear). I know I certainly wouldn't. You can buy a pretty tasty motor for £6000 these days. I hope it sells though, and it gets well looked after.

It's a nice example. I did see it "In the glass", so to speak at a show some years back. I'm not sure if it has any weather gear but the owner has advertised it a couple of times before and he's been asking over £6000 for it. Now, as nice as it is, I just can't see it making that sort of money. I hope it goes to a good home and we see it on the road.

I worked as a civilian at Robins AFB for a short time way back just before Desert Shield happened. Can't believe how different things are now to then. In this day and age, I wouldn't be allowed anywhere near that place, let alone apply for a job.
Most of the stuff we had there consisted of C130's, KC135's and F15's. We had a few remaining F4's too. They were destined for the ANG.
I do have quite an interest in the old 8th Air Force that was stationed here in East Anglia where I live.

A CJ7 or YJ wrangler roof will fit the tub, but the windscreen on the jeep is higher, so there will be a big gap at the top of the screen frame. I think someone on here did it a few years back but it certainly wasn't easy.

I think I might measure up a CJ7 one and see if i can get it to fit. I know they are a few inches taller, but not worried about that. I reckon finding a decent RV one secondhand will be very difficult.

Yep, it's bloody awful. . . but have to say I didn't have any plans to work on the RV. I'm currently trying to decide if I need to start looking for a replacement windscreen frame or, try and repair the horrible bodge ups made by previous owners.

I have these currently on my RV. They are very slim, which is nice but the previous owner has mounted them on alloy plate. I don't know why. Anyway, the point is, if you like them, they will soon be removed as they are surplus to my requirements. If you want to pay a couple of quid over the shipping cost, I'll send them to you complete with the alloy plates. John

Very nice Peter but maybe a bit expensive for us RV owners. By the time I got them shipped + duty, they would cost me the same as I paid for my RV! John
