It's a nice example. I did see it "In the glass", so to speak at a show some years back. I'm not sure if it has any weather gear but the owner has advertised it a couple of times before and he's been asking over £6000 for it. Now, as nice as it is, I just can't see it making that sort of money. I hope it goes to a good home and we see it on the road.

Yes that is the TEAC show car. I would be interested in speaking to the previous owner as he had the moulds which have 'disappeared'. Going by its condition, low mileage and rarity I would say 6K + is fair. For far to long these cars have been undersold resulting in stupid low prices and consequently scrapped cars are they have no 'value'. Pity I can't see the white SS which was on the right of the stand facing the front of the RV, maybe these photos were taken during set up time prior to the SS arriving (a bit late). It was 2006 as I was hobbling around the stand for two days after my knee replacement.

I'm not saying that this RV isn't worth £6000 Peter, development costs, labour and materials means it must be worth it but, what I'm saying is, I just don't think anyone would be prepared to pay that sort of money for it (especially if there's no weather gear). I know I certainly wouldn't. You can buy a pretty tasty motor for £6000 these days. I hope it sells though, and it gets well looked after.

If I got no interest in my RV at £800 and it's never been on the road then £6000 could never be aceived...
I know mine is not to the same standard but....£5200 would buy alot of improvements!
I now want £200 for mine, without the engine and 'box, but still no takers!

An acquaintance of mine just bought a 2002 Lexus 300 in immaculate condition with full history and recent full service for €2500, it's a crazy world.

My old GTO £600 with full years MOT. Very little wrong with it. Sold it last summer for £950 Bought my current one last October, better spec but just 6 months MOT, £800. Still using it daily. John

Nice Mitsy, Car prices are stupid, all over the place, top motors going for a song and crap for a fortune and area by area so much variation. Down here on the Costa del Sol prices are two or even three times the price of inland or further North. My stepson, bought his BMW 525 TDS from Granada, 2 hour drive North and inland and he paid half the Marbella price. I bought my Mercedes A170 Cdi from Seville for 12K€ instead of 18K€ locally, (BIG mistake, the car, not the price). I still think most kit cars are undersold considering the rarity value WE place on them, to others not steeped in the culture they are just a cheap plastic throwaway. Also one reason is the individual nature of the beast, everyone builds their to their spec and taste and that is not everyone's.

Many thanks, Biggles. Just wanted some ideas - and to see what I'm up against when I start my own refurb in earnest.
...cough...

Just read the thread on here, "So you want to build a kit car", that will tell you what you are up against.

I already know what I'm up against - it's sitting out in the garage... :-(
