Well, folks. It appears that my images won't work here. Maybe they are too large. So, I have posted on the Eagle Owners Facebook page. Everything seems to work there. For those with Facebook, here's the link. www.facebook.com/eagle.owners?epa=SEARCH_BOXJohn

Can't work out why the photos don't work, Peter. I'll try creating a new thread. If that doesn't work, I'm stumped.

Hi, Andy. If the engine is in the front, it will be a Mk3, 4 or 5 Ford Cortina. I think most suspension bushes will interchange between all 3 types. If the engine is in the back, it's a Volkswagen.

Can't see anything at all happening, this year, Terry. On the plus side, I did pull the RV out of the garage this morning. Measured up a few bits. . . . and pushed it back in again!

I feel your pain. I have exactly the same issue. I hardly dare look at mine. It's a horrible mess. I guess every previous owner has had their fingers in there. Once I get everything else sorted, a full rewire, will be the last job.

My vin plate is just a riveted on piece of tin As you look under the bonnet, it's on the angled member that rises up, to the left of the radiator.

The stud pattern will be correct (4 x 108), but the centre bore may (or may not) be a little different. Worth a try, though.

Pretty sure mine has a little alloy plate, riveted to the chassis. In the engine bay, I think. I'll try and have a proper look tomorrow.

I have one going spare, if anyone needs one. Would have to be collected from Norfolk, but £15 would buy it.

If you break it, what price for the roll bar, please?

Yep, I just remembered the fuel filler neck! I'm probably going to fit a re-designed roll bar, so that's coming out, anyway. I'm also thinking, if I pull the body off, I might space it up a couple of inches. I guess that might entail lengthening the steering shaft, but won't really know until I mock it up.

That's great Gary. I actually did a little to mine today. Problem is, the more I look, the more I see stuff that needs attention. I reckon I'm going to have to bite the bullet and lift the body off the chassis. I can't get my head round what needs disconnecting. I'm guessing: Steering shaft, Handbrake cables, clutch and throttle cables, wiring harness and brake pipes to the master cylinder.
Any more information, will be gratefully received.

You should be able to fit the hard top without a roll bar. It doesn't attach to the bar anywhere, as far as I remember. The roll bar does provide anchors for the seat belts and door strikers, though. Having said that, you could temporarily use a couple of short, tubular uprights for that purpose. (capped and padded) The hard top should be fairly easy to remove, once in place, so fitting a roll bar can be completed, when you find one.

One thing I can say, is that the screen frame on my RV is one inch wider across it's length than a Jeep CJ7. This wound tend to indicate that the body tub of the RV is, in fact, slightly wider than the Jeep it was copied from.
I don't think Jeep doors would be easy to fit because of the windscreen, again. The angle (rake) of the frame is more upright on the RV. The doors have to close against the frame, so you would be left with a gap.

No, I doubt it. If you've just bought it, you definitely won't. If you've owned it since the tax expired and didn't SORN it, they may try and impose a fine, but just apply for tax on line and see what happens.

Hi. A CJ7 top won't fit, unfortunately. The body tub is the correct dimensions, but the windscreen frame is too short.

Says it's been standing for 8 years. . . . . It's not been taxed since 1990 and there are no MOT records at all.

Couldn't bend myself into a "Z" shape to get a really accurate measure, but it looks very close to 90 inches.
