Not sure about this, George, but the difficulty may be that you have the 5 speed box. Originally, the RV had the old 4 speed. I think I remember reading somewhere that some modification was required to fit a 5 speed.
Of course, I could be totally wrong!

Welcome. That looks to have plenty of potential. Looks like it might have have the kit option 16" Weller wheels?

Somebody here may be able to identify your car by the chassis number, but not sure that will help. It's a bit of a lottery, I think.

Just a note of caution regarding the soft tops. It's not a case of "One size fits all". Over the years, the RV came with different width windscreen frames. I sold a hood to a member on here and it was around four inches too narrow for his car, although it fitted mine perfectly.

I've seen one fitted to the very last (Sierra based), incarnation of the RV, so It may be possible to fit one into the Cortina based shell, but it may need some modification. I'm fitting a CJ7 dash in mine. Once again, it will go in, but I'm having to do a fair bit of cutting and shutting.
I guess anything is possible with the right tools, a bit of thought and plenty of patience.

I'm working on my RV at every opportunity, but it's a long way from roadworthy. I try to concentrate on one task at a time and not look at the bigger picture. If I did, I'd probably just throw the covers back over it, and not touch it again for another ten years.

I wish you luck with your quest. Unfortunately, this forum is a bit "Hit and miss", should we say. Peter does all he can to keep the interest up, but a lot of folk only seem to be here for a brief period and then disappear. The fact that you're willing to travel, to find out what you need, is great. Hopefully someone will come forward to help you out.

Cheers, Dave. I did see those white Wellers. They are lovely, but a couple of inches too wide and around an 800 mile round trip to collect. I might have made the trip, if they'd been 7j or, maybe even 8j, but 9's are just not going to work. I will email you some photos of the soft top etc., when I get home this evening. Thanks,
John

I have a complete RV hood, soft doors and hood frame, for sale. It will need to be collected from Norfolk (NR29). I will not be shipping it anywhere. It seems to be a good quality one with good zips and excellent stitching. PLEASE NOTE: It will need some of the popper studs replacing along the bottom edge and the windows will need a good clean but, apart from that, it is in excellent condition.
Price will be £150.00 firm. If you are prepared to travel to pick it up and you are serious about buying, please email me at: john.bull1956@btinternet.com and I will provide some photos.

Looks like it's got 10 bids, so far. I would guess they're just bidding for the Pinto engine and box.

Mocking up the windscreen frame, doors and fender flares, today. Not straightforward by any means, but I can make it work. John
