Hi All! Just to introduce myself. I live in Shropshire UK and about two weeks ago I bought a Eagle RV on a 1979 Daihatsu F20 chassis. Been stood for a long time by the looks, I have removed the body and now in the process of repairing and painting chassis. That's about it so far. Cheers, Rad.

Hi rad, pleased to have you on the forum, please feel free to start a build thread of your own in the correct section. and tell us a bit about the RV, we love photos. We will be pleased to give any help and advice possible if needed. User name is fine but many of us sign off with our personal, keeps it family like. Can you let me have details so I can check it against the register and enter it if not already on.
Thanks, Peter

Hi Peter, Thanks for the warm welcome. I will post some picks of my progress with the RV soon. Don't know too much about this vehicle apart from what I discover as I go along. As I said it is a Daihatsu 1600 registered in 1979 so it can only be a F20 model as I see it, as the Fourtracks were not been built at that date. The wheel base is 92" it can be clearly seen where the Chassis has been extended from the original 80" to fit the body. You will know better than I but it suggest that it was Range rover body version originally. The Reg NO: is FWY 485T Regards, Brian.

hi Brian, Thanks for the info; The original RV was designed to fit on a VW chassis with a 95" wheel base later the Eagle chassis was made to take Ford Cortina running gear but kept the same wheel base as the chassis was made to fit the VW foot print so avoiding expensive re-tooling, they just built a fibre glass floor in. The 4x4 versions were built later and included Diahatsu, Range Rover and Discovery, yours is the third one so far and is now on the EOC register as DRV3. (on the next update). Peter
