Hey y'all,
New guy signing in here. The name's Dom, though most people call me Crazy.
I'm a massive massive fan of the Eagle SS, have been since I was a kid, and now I'm a bit older (27), I'm looking to get one, and figured this would be the best place to look really. Also hoping to extend my knowledge of the SS as well.
My love of the SS came from a family friend of mine who owns an SS, has done for at least 20 years now, and back when I was a kid, it was on the road, and it was the first car that I truly fell in love with. Everything about it I just adored, from the flip up lights and gull wing doors, to the stupid things like having to have a cushion behind me in the seat because the seats were fixed (or at least I never recall them moving!). Hell I still even remember the registration on it (Q975 VAM). My friend's Eagle is a Cortina based one, but I'm more a VW guy, so I'm looking to get a Beetle based one for myself.
So yea, that's me. Hopefully will be joining the ranks of ownership at some point too, fingers crossed anyways eh?

Welcome Dom, They used to call me "Crazy Pete" in the 60s when racing Lambrettas, I tuned many top Lambrettas for guys and unconventional and innovative was an understatement. Crazy fits in well here as one has to be a bit nuts along with the other requirements, as it's not like owning a MkI VW Golf or even a 1970 Beetle, all the parts in a book and it all fits off the shelf, bung petrol in, change oil and drive, no, it's a lot more than that . Space (workshop/garage) is also important as will be cash and tools and understanding from those you live with . There has been a rash of SSs for sale over the last year and just like buses there isn't one when you want one , I hope one of the guys who have been bitching they haven't sold theirs jumps up . There is always Ebay and there is a 'for sale' category on here to check out too. Check out "So you want to build a kit car" on here. If you can tick all the boxes, go for it, not trying to put anyone off but the article does try to avoid someone wasting a lot of time, cash and yet another car half done wreck on Ebay (or worse, scrapped as there were only 680+ made)which not only make restoration more difficult for the next guy but actually drives prices down. You will certainly get all the help and advise you will need on here and I look forward to seeing what you get.

Cheers Crazy Pete!!
I have all the skill and ability to build a kit car (I currently build trikes in my spare time), the only thing I don't have is space for building one, so I'm looking for one already on the road or ready for MOT to go on the road. Rare ro find I know, but such is circumstance.
I currently own 2 trikes, both bike based, a volksrod (hot rod made from a bug), Ford Mustang fox body, and a classic Honda Aerodeck, so I'm a complete petrol head.

Cool. Yea, I'm on Fox Doctors. I'm the guy who bought that really cheap yellow hatch a couple years back, was gonna do a cop car replica, and then just painted the whole thing matt black lol
I live near to Brands anyways, so yea, I'll be there.

Excellent! Good luck with finding a good "SS" project. Mine's an RV. It's slow progress at the moment, but I will get it done eventually. To many other things taking my time at the moment.

Cheers. Well I'll just keep my eyes open and cash ready to go.
Yea, always a pain trying to find time for projects. I have 5 motors, all of them ongoing projects, so I know that feeling!
