Hi mrlenihan, congratulations on your rv buy, rv doors are the pain in the ass for most rv owners, first they are like rocking horse sh*t and then depending on how the car was built i.e. screen rake dificult to fit, but good luck and welcome ;D

Hi Pelland, The gearstick hole on my type 9 is about 25mm below the flat part of the centre tunnel but comes through at the start of the sloping bit. the engine & box look pretty much horizontal and yes there will be a fair angle on the prop shaft. When I ran with a cortina pinto and box I think the angle ws slightly less but not much and worked fine. looking at the angles on some of the jacked up land rovers, jeeps and monster trucks I think we should be ok. I will be making up a prop shaft in a month or so, I guess I' find out then. You could compromise by raising the engine mounts a bit and lowering the gearbox a bit I think the carb would probably live with it ? Let me know how you get on cheers Terry

Its a good idea Gary I've been thinking of fitting one myself too, especialy as I'm probably going to be running with a rag top. I was going to fit a bar from the roll bar forward to the screen support.

Gary, you might like this one too. ;D
MEDICAL TESTING This is worrying Beer contains female hormones. Last month, Wits University and RAU scientists released the results of a Recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer. Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain Phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women. To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour Period. It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects: 1) Argued over nothing. 2) Refused to apologize when obviously wrong. 3) Gained weight. 4) Talked excessively without making sense. 5) Became overly emotional 6) Couldn't drive. 7) Failed to think rationally. 8) Had to sit down while urinating. No further testing was considered necessary. Send this to the men you know to warn them about drinking too much beer! Regards,

An escort van tank would probably be ok as its flat on top and a good rectangular shape, you would have to weld in some rails or something to fix it to though. My mate just bought an rv and the cortina tank han just been strapped up against the floor with some foam cushening in between ! Also you might have to move the filler neck. I think you can get new escort van tanks from the dutton owners club ?

I never had a chassis number stamped on my rv, Eagle sent a ally chassis plate with the number on which was self adhesive and I think you were suposed to stamp that no on to the chassis yourself ! good luck with dvla
