Hi Chris, you are right they are righr they are sierra mounts, you have very sharp eyesight. Basically I just disc cut the old cortina mounts off and welded a piece of 80 x 40 channel ontop of the chassis rails where the old ones were, taking into account the distance from the gearbox mount. You can just see them in one of the pics in "my chassis mods" on page 4, but I will try and post up some better ones for you soon. With the sierra td lump I have to modify the offside one again for the steering to clear the oil filter !,

you will probably find as well Don that they don't fit the old style hard toparound the rear door edge. So the rear door edge has to be builtup with grp and fettled to fit. For my hard top to fit I will have to cut the lip off the front edge of it and let it rest on the top off the screen surround. the old style sliding doors that came with the kit are the ones to fit with the old style hard top. Seems you have to get the sets that were sold together by the various manufactures. ps or as you can see on allyboys black rv, the hard top has been modified around the door appature.

Hi allyboy, your doors are the same type as the ones I bought off Maggie. Looks like you were lucky with the screen rake angle. They are ok but you must wonder why this was the best that have been developed, I mean they are a bit square . But I will be fitting them for now too. Cheers everyone, happy new year

This is a real grey area Chris, you only have to read the clasifieds in the kit car mags to find adds like "£5000 worth of receipts will accept £2500" ?. You could easily spend more than you will get back. But then an entheusiast who wants a good example of the marque will pay what its worth. Replica's seem to get decent money ? RV's are going cheep? mate this still doesn't answer your question though

Yes Pelland your right, the chassis pics here must be the eagle rr chassis you can see the family resemblance, also its miles different to the disco chassis shown on 2ndgeer4x4 thread on page 2 of this section which must be similar to the rr chassis as the running gear is the same. (I think as that is what the DAKAR is based on). It looks much better made than my old cortina based chassis

I'm pretty sure the range rover model was a genuine eagle option around 1988.

Remember the £60 marquee, well it did a great job of keeping my rv dry for a couple of months, and i did get a few jobs done as well. But the high winds of mid december proved a bit too much for it ripping off all the velcro fastenings and bending the poles, in the end I had to take it down before it dissapeared accross glamorgan !. It was crap quality realy So I decided to build a proper car port and if I'm clever I can sneak on some sides and doors and it then becomes a garage extention ;D I will post some pics later this week, I'm about half way there. CHEERS EVERYONE, HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR
