Just a quick update, over the weekend I got my front anti roll bar cleaned up, painted and fitted with new drop links. Also did some repairs to the scuttle where the bonnet hinges bolt on, also I cut some tapered peices out of the back edge of the bonnet where it curves down to the rear of he wings. I pulled the two edges back together then and put a few layers of fibre glass inside the bonnet then fillered it up. This gives a nice fit now against the scuttlewhere as before there was a large gap along the top. Will be putting a brand new prop shaft on this week, and need to get flexi hoses and unions for the brake pipes. I'l get some pics on next weekend. Cheers all

Thirded , apart from the website in need of update, we have a chat, share info and experience, have laugh, post pics of our builds and other things, all here on the forum. We attend shows to meet fellow members and see there cars for real, and I have met many great people and characters in our club and the ACC and Club Nova. I meet up with mates from the north east and many other people who I have met over the years ( about 25 years on and off at stoneleigh) on manufacturers stands etc. For me thats what its all about. I'm sure the web site will be sorted by the few that know how to do it. The EOC is fine See you all at stoneleigh CHEERS

You've had a great bargain there mate, spring rates are what I've been trying to work out. At the moment I have new mk2 escort 190lb + 1" springs on there which are slightly bigger diameter but seem to fit reasonably ok, they seem around the right strength when I bounce on the front bumper but are a touch too low. these are about 2" shorter than the old cortina ones I had on there which were always at full extention. I think I will try rallye desighn for the coftina ones arround 200 lb and 1" shorter. But as David says some thing may be seized so go for a full bush replacement, or at least get the springs out and check out the bushes then decide on a spring to use, fit them and work from there. Personally I like mine suspention to compress down a couple of inches when the weight of the car is on it so there is travell up and down.
