Thanks,
the RV is running well, it had an issue with the carburetter which has now been sorted, the engine was spluttering a bit and cut out a few times, but I have put some redex in it and she is running fine now.
tire sizes the wheels have written on them - 6.5 x 16
the tires have - 205sr16 99Q
by the way does anyone know where is the best place to get cheep tires? I have been quoted 108 per tire, seems a bit much.
Thanks again for the support
Phips

Just thought of something else I needed to ask, when we go over bumps in the road, we hear a massive bang from underneath the car, has anyone else had this problem? I'm not sure if the suspension is too soft as you do got thrown around on the road a bit, or if it is the pivot point on the thing that drives the back wheels ( about the description, my knowledge of car part names aint so good) banging against the body? thanks

Thanks again for the support Phips Hihihihi You generally find that 16 inch tyres tend to be expensive as its considered such an oddball size these days. I found the same when I went to renew the tyre on my wife's MG...nearly £125 each!!!!! Anyhow check the internet for blackcircles.com or your yellow pages for a company called Birkenshaw International. Black circle do a full range of tyres at very good prices. Birkenshaw were wholesale and supplied the likes of Budget, Kwikfit etc..but they sell to joe public as well. Our local Birkenshaw depot closed down but I not sure if it was the whole network that closed or not. You have to remember that you don't need high speed rating on the tyres as the RV is never goning to be a real hard charger so this will save you a few quid. Expect to pay about £65 each plus fitting. As for the banging noises...get down and get under and start swinging on things Look for loose prop, worn uj's on the prop, loose exhaust, backlash in the diff. Bounce on each corner to check suspension travel. Anything that appears loose tighten up. Good luck
