That is a cracking bargain! It is a 2+2 NOT a SS, so even rarer, one of only a handful known to exist. (now entered as 2+7 ready for next upload) Anyone who was in the market for a Ford Eagle should buy this or they were just not serious. Seats, loom, trim and paint couple of grand and all the hard work already done. (shame about the VW version boot lid but possible that makes it a very early one, mid to later 80's. As a matter of interest do any records exist to how many 2+2's were built both Ford and VW versions?

If this is imported back to England would it need to go through an IVA test?
Shame about being in Australia as you could be looking at around £1500 - £2000 to get it back.

Is this a space frame build or VW based and is the engine running?

Finally the SS Eagle has landed and is currently sat in my drive waiting for its place along side my Nova in the workshop, been along time coming but the wait was worth it. Will post a project thread once i have had a chance to look at what work is required.

Hi
Can i ask if you are able to adjust the doors on an SS Eagle or are they fixed in place once built?
The one i am looking at has the doors out of line with the body or could this be possibly down to worn rubber weather seals around doors pulling the doors out of line?
Regards

Hi All I am looking into buying a Ford based SS Eagle and just wondered if there was any common faults that i should look for apart from the obvious, things like rust points on the chassis? Any advice you can give would be appreciated Thanks

Hi Peter
When i mentioned about a possible VW conversion i was thinking more along the lines of modifying the body tub floor pan to fit the VW chassis, all be it a huge project on its own. I know the chassis dimensions for the Ford & VW are of very similar size so wonder if it would be possible?
Massive shame to see this possibly going to the scrappy although needing shed loads of work.

Looks like the gloves are off as the buy it now price of £300 has been removed, would have been a bargain at that price. If 1 didn't already have my Nova project i would have gone for this myself, UUmmm or can i get this in my garage / workshop as well??

Hi all Came across this add on ebay with an interesting write up. Reading through the forum it is clear that this project will not get registered as road worthy due to the custom built chassis. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161243405171?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649If the body is mounted onto a VW beetle floor pan with a valid V5C and no modifications made to chassis then it can be registered as a Beetle re-shell avoiding the need for a SVA if my understanding is correct? Hi All Link below for what seems like a possible interesting project. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310848962558?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649I am in two minds at the moment about chasing this project as know very little about ford based kits Can i ask what ford it would require as the doner being it has a ford based space frame and more importantly how much hassle would it be to get it through an SVA? Excuse my ignorance being new to ford based kits as i have only built VW NOVA's in the pass and think it would look good parked next to my NOVA Regards
