Hi All I am looking into buying a Ford based SS Eagle and just wondered if there was any common faults that i should look for apart from the obvious, things like rust points on the chassis? Any advice you can give would be appreciated Thanks

A kit car is completely different from a production car. Any faults are usually down to the way it was put together. A chassis can be treated 100 different ways by 100 different people. The only "common faults" will be with regards to the doner car. Eg. The ford pinto engines were known to wear out camshafts (but most have been fixed by now). Cortina suspension bushes can be a problem but upgraded bushes are easily available.

And there is a yellow one in good nick on EBay. There were only 345 Ford SSs made and probably only less than 100 left so If you want one you will not find the 'right' one dropping into your lap, you are going to are to be prepared to go get it and then spend a lot of time and cash getting it 'right,. Wish you luck and hope you will give a SS a good home

Hi
Can i ask if you are able to adjust the doors on an SS Eagle or are they fixed in place once built?
The one i am looking at has the doors out of line with the body or could this be possibly down to worn rubber weather seals around doors pulling the doors out of line?
Regards

Nothing a heat gun, block of 2x2 and a strap will not cure. What about that yellow one trik found in a field next to where he is working on his car.
