I have an email from a Joe Bonello who wants to sell a SS, it has a Alfa engine but requires the usual interior etc. More details and photos to follow. Anyone interested let us know.
"Hi ,My name is Joe. I would like to know if there is anybody looking to restore a 1969 (? Donor year, Peter) Eagle SS. It has an Alfa Romeo box motor in it and someone has gone to great lengths rewiring. Needs interior, full resto. Can send photos. Cheers joe"

I have no idea yet, I have asked Joe and he said the car is in storage and it will be a day or three to get the info I need. If it has an Alfa engine it will be a VW chassis, hang on in there.

Joe didn't tell me one small fact, the car is in AUSTRALIA, so unless someone wants to import is again??? latest; Hi Pete ,thankyou very much for all this. like I said mate I don't know anything about the car. It needs full resto. The car is in Australia. It has been re wired and marked/tagged , starts up, sounds awesome with it's new twin exhaust.the side windows are made of glass, and yes I totally regarding side mirrors. Needs good tune up .the lights pop up, indicators, stop lights ,headlights all work..the motor and tyres which are really fat look new , like I said someone has spent a little time and money on it. I'm a little confused regarding the certificate from the museum. does this mean it's not a 1969/70 car . Apparently a surgeon imported it from England in 2006, but like me probably didn't know were to start or who to take it to for resto as there isn't anybody out here that has even seen one let alone worked on one ,that is my dilemma over here. He had to go overseas that's why he sold it.. I think the front left wheel bearings are gone as it sounds rough on that side. I would love to get it back to it's full glory. The attention the car gets when I take it round the block is unbelievable, even the cops are amazed . Only living around the corner they just let me go and it's not even registered. We need a permit to drive an unroadworthy car over here to and from a mechanic that's were the v5 comes from ,had to put something down. What are your thoughts pete...how much would you think a full resto would cost in England. body, interior, mechanics, maybe front-end, everything. Although it cost the previous owner a small fortune to purchase and import it, I didn't pay much for it. I knew the box motor, twin exhausts and tyres alone are worth good money. The chassis No has only 5 NUMBERS IN it as I recall an are situated between the two seats , I forgot to take photo, does that mean anything to you in regards to age . I'm sure a surgeon would have done their research while over there before buying. I have looked at all the photos on the web and cannot find front end like mine, which look much earlier. Are there many of these about , it would be a real shame to take it to the tip only to see it crushed. That's were I'm at Pete. The car is in my sister's single garage and needs it back. Thanks very much mate your thoughts would be greatly appreciated ...CHEERS joe

If this is imported back to England would it need to go through an IVA test?
Shame about being in Australia as you could be looking at around £1500 - £2000 to get it back.

IF one could see the original registration number somewhere then no it would not need a SVA, it is a bit of a grey area if one only has the history of the car but no reg number or V5 from 1970. We know it was a white 1200 made in June 1970 and 99% certain it would have been an August 1st 1970 registration and that is when we bought our new cars, first of August, changed somewhat since.
Seems STUPID that cars are saved in the DVLA database by reg number not VIN, the VIN stays with the chassis no matter what, (crime aside) But the V5 and plates can be lost.
