Charlie, Better get some spring loaded wheels under that box behind the rear axle ! !When the rear axle bumps upward, and body and chassis lower; it's going to hit the floor.

Well as the pic was taken at a farm outside of Chicago then I'd guess it could well be a US based kit car and there was a VW beetle there as well. Re a "proper PC" so doesn't a Microsoft Surface Pro with a 1TB SSD running Windows 11 count as a proper PC then?. What I did notice was though that when creating the post you cant click on the image, so you cant see that it enlarges, going back into the post as you say it now expands up to a full screen sized pic Windows gets worse at every update.
Photos occasionaly dont save properly to open in old paint program ( probably old programme fault ) Photos and videos wont always load in "Edge" Windows 10, but will open in Firefox ( one i use )
On here, If you are a Guest - most photos wont show if you are not signed in.
I assumed you were usng a phone, as thats the most problimatic.

Image is not small -- if you use a REAL computer it fills the screen, and clicking on the opened picture, increases it to almost twice the screen width.
Lap top screen is 12inches wide ( I don't do French ) therefore picture is 22 inches wide.
I hate poxy telephones acting as if the are real computers ( not shouting at you ).
They look like Avante kit cars ( Nova cub accomodate these cars ) HOWEVER the dip below the doors tells me they are not.: I will investigate, but me thinks they are not an English car.

speaking of door opening positions, how far are the doors supposed to open, I'd like to see them open to the point where the vertical section of the door becomes horizontal (if that makes sense) was that the original design ?
Later versions had weak roof but reverted to not so vertical doors.
Mk 3's ( but maybe mk 2's ) had reinforced roof, did away with the internal roll bar, but kept the not so vertical doors ( shorter gas rams were cheaper ) Mine is a mk 3 BUT with internal ( on show ) roll over bar - so am confused as to why it has a roll bar with a reinforced roof. Maybe they had a few left over, and just fitted them.
But Peter my put me right.

Hi Guys. I am bidding on it Don't forget, if no reg documents, you need an IVA test at £ 450 + V.A.T. = £ 540
Even with Reg doc's it has it's own special chassis, - so IVA still needed.
Don't forget to close the gap above the front bumper and wing ( take them off after the test )
Looks like it needs a front screen too ( flat glass, so no problem )
My SS is regd still as a ford cortina.... never been stopped. -up to you how you reg it.
Good luck.

Looks OK if anyone is up to doing a lot of work? Thanks Dave.
Hope an enthusiast ( and potential member / existing member buys it.)
Interested persons should ask
if it has the rear spare wheel carrier. ( 2 bolts on rear bumper below R.H. rear light ) ( one or two bolts sheared off )
If it has the soft top / and or hard top
Prop shaft is just a shortened cortina one.
Brake pipes and pistons need new ones - all round
!600 / 2000 engine has same cast into engine block at bottom of block front - exhaust size.

lol first topic and immediately differences of opinion, that's what makes kitcars just so beautiful, I have the gas pressure springs so we're just going to try at a later time what it gives, I still have air pressure pistons lying around so that's option 2 and order 2 actuators and a control in China, to be continued Yes we all have our own opinions.
Gas rams -- series 3 SS, original ones have sticker on stating 280 N. Have located correct part number for gas rams, at correct dimensions, but higher force.
I think Eagle got standard ones made but with pressure reduced. I am about to order one 280n to see if it's too strong or weak. Will let all members know the results ( E.O.C. Members )

Glossy metallic black paint job with maybe a few deep red highlights, chrome side pipes. LED lights (lots of them) Exactly.... and decent exhaust note Eagle SS's were not too popular, a few years ago, but with all our help, we can make them be.
Well, that is my intention.

Gas rams may well be quicker but is it about speed or style Am trying to save "Diy" money and and agrevation, what with painfully slow electric or hydraulic rams ( have seen them both ) and getting door latch to open before rams operate,
my gas rams - initially - rased the doors on thier own - after the first few inches, and were quick. Can't be arsed to WAIT to get into car and WAIT to drive off. Especially if it's got a Beetle ( and beetle sounding ) engine. No way. Just not cool, man.
High performance and bad ass exhaust note, wild paint job ( not too wild ) -- yes, electric slow doors. Normal 1600 / 2L front engine or 1300 / 1600 beetle engine, one colour body --- No electric doors.
Just my preference.

greetings from Belgium All of a sudden I come up with a few questions which lock mechanism do you have because on all 3 there is a lock mechanism of a beetle trunk lid and that is ugly in the way. 2nd I'm thinking about opening the doors electrically like I did with the Nova, apparently Peter would have been working on it at some point but nothing else has been found about it, are there those who already did this? Hi, Welcome to the Eagle Forum.
All my eagles ( ford front mounted ) had similar locks ( but chrome ) to above photo, and just a plain slot in the fibreglass to accept the lever.
One small hole but with one or 2 flat sides was all that was needed, but your current beetle ones may have to have holes filled in and re-made holes.
Firbreglass is light enough to lift with keys in place
2) gasram door opens much faster than any other form - so I suggest you keep to gas rams for doors. I would be half a kilometre down the road before you got your doors closed ! after waiting for them to open / close..
But good to see you have so many Eagles. Eventually join the club and save up to vist us at one one of the English shows.
Nice to see you.
Graham.

Graham hi Ok that's me booked into Newark for the Sunday (well a passenger day ticket has been paid for) I cant actually see anywhere to book in, or is that done through the club. As your car COULD look like a home assembly car AND it's a 3 wheeler, and looks new, you will be let through the gates ( Exibitors ) no problem. ( + showing the passenger ticket for your passemger )
If they ask, which they probably wont. You are exibiting on the Eagle Owners Club pitch, under sub section "Custom Cars" but on the Eagle stand.
The pich will be forwarded on here when I get the ref number, so just drive to the pitch and drive on -
However, because it's not an Eagle kit car, and If I am around, we may put it away from the kits ( And because it's small, you dont want it dwarfed by my Lincoln & the massive R.V's )
My Lincoln is in the "Sub-section" "Classic Cars" and good job it was at Malvern as we had too much space.for the cars that turned up.
It's what we have to do, to invoke interest in Eagles, while looking at yours and mine.
You can get in the"Exhibitors" gate before 9 am, - not that you would be there that early.
S0 see you Sunday -- at Newark -- ( Not Malvern ! )

Hi, I plan to be at the Newark show on the Sunday and will be bringing a car of interest with me (Polaris Slingshot) That will be fine, seeing as we can't seem to get enough Eagles at present.
Can you give me the details, and confirm the following. 2.0 L Engine made by Polaris: Compression ratio 11.5 to one ( my lincoln and VW beetles are about 8.5 to one )

Being a few members are looking for a hardtop, why don't we get together and buy the moulds which were advertised, and find someone who can manufacture a few roofs. This has been suggested a while back, but I put it to forum members, as did terryrob,, that there are 2 types of RV hardtop, the later being with the introduction of a Ford Sierra chassis.
Which mold is it for sale ? -- who knows, and who is going to confirm the type ? and financially unsustainable to get a mold and spend hours making a DECENT hard top. Does it have a rubber seal at the base ( to be procurred ) / rear upper tailgate ( to be procured ? - rams and seal ) / rear window / side windows etc etc.
Sorr y to put a damper on this -- but
Add the cost of purchase, and transport to manufacturer who will have to rectify any damage / refurbish the actual mold side / fiberglass, resin etc, and minimum of 4 hours to prepare, fibreglass, trim, put it in a timber frame ready to deliver to customer, plus transport costs to customer, you could be looking at £ 500 end product.
And how many would you sell at £ 500 3 ? and how many would be wanting the model we got. If you have to alter the roof and doors to fit, you probably won't bother to buy.
As at 2nd May 2023, we had 12 paid up members, -- + 4 rejoined, + 2 new members joined at Malvern show.
We have a hard enough time to get members to pay the yearly fee, and most on facebook / and Eagle forum just wont join. So don't expect a rush for funds for this.
We have voted for the cost of a secure web page and revamp, but current membership fees won't be enough to procure.
If some one wants to verify the model, and produce ONE and see how many people want that particular model roof, feel free to purchase an unknown model and initially someone drive down to check the dimentions in their R.V.
Sorr y to be negative but the small quantiy envisaged to be sold of only one of two models, is not worth the risk, in my opinion.

Report on the National Kit car show. With a few pics
This show at Malvern is the replacement to Stoneleigh. Stoneleigh's cost of hireing the venue had increased so much that last year, kit cars had to pay to get in, something unheard of previosly, hence the change in venue.
Malvern is a much more pleasant place. We had water taps available - but think we were lucky. and there were showers in the gent's Again, a few plots were empty, or had only few cars.
The turn out of Eagles was dispointing too, but I do know that many cars are still being worked on, and not everyone wants to go to a show in their Eagle, but I have for the past 3 years tried to entice people to come to the 2 main shows ( Malvern and Newark ) and with the increasing interest in the Club, managed to get a double plot, in anticipation of possibly more Eagles turning up.
The same organisers may reduce the size we had, by half for Newark, ( shown by the dotted line in some photos ) so to prevent that from happening, please try to visit Newark in your Eagles and tell me if you will be attending Newark, so as to accurately predict the plot size we need.-- 4 weeks advance - Newark is July 22nd and 23rd
However, the weather was great, we got sun tanned, we were fed well via the other two commitee members, Jon ( Gromit ) and Terry ( terryrob ) I suggest that their meals ( £ 5 for club members ) are up to 3 times cheaper than the stalls on site. You can see the array of cars that were there, and I anticipated the plot would be under utilised, so I brought my Lincoln ( see www.hisautos.com ) along and it was a classic car show as well, so no problem displaying, so if you have a "car of interest" let me know if you wish to display. My lincoln had a sign in the windscreen " Classic car section"
I will fight hard again, as I did this time, to get the same location at 2024's Malvern show, as it was next to the only paying entrace and we did get a lot of attention which is why I wanted that plot.
We had the A.G.M. and a few suggestions were made and voted on. If you are not a member of the club. you can't vote on anything, so think about joining.
So thanks to everyone who attended, and hope to see more Eagles at Newark ( and Malvern next year )
Graham ( Chairman )

I get where your coming from Graham but perhaps if we said that all members were asked if we should combine efforts in regards food to prevent 12 bbq's been lit allover at staggered times. The members agreed and it was decided that a set amount was agreed upon per meal as a contribution towards the cost of the food............................................. Thanks for that.
Well, plenty of room in the club tent for the food / tables -- that's what it's for, and to keep out of any rain, and only needs suff to be pushed to one side for an Hour at the most for the A.G.M. job done ! I have a 3m x 3m gazebo too, ( no sides ) so Ill bring that too & if we don't need to use it - no problem--
am hireing an 8 foot trailer ( some tent poles are 7 foot long -and my old trailer is only 5 foot long )
and as I said in my last post ... O.K. it may be left open, it just maybe see how it goes on the day, or have some idea as to "opening times" as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - to be fair to the people that are cooking the food. Don't worry- it will work out on the day, as it has in the past.
If we don't get any more members renewing their membership by 30th May ( 2 and a half weeks away ) we will only have 10 paid up members, and some of those wont be comming to the 1st show. I'll send another list out to superseed the one i sent out on 1/5/2023 to you so you know how many members may -- may wish to purchase / donate towards food -- if they are hungry and go to the show.
Not that it's a problem, but I may be hiring a car transporter too, if my legs and back can work on the SS, and in total will cost £ 345.00 for 2 trailers. ( not complaining ) and maybe again for Newark .......... and I'll be at an American Classic show with my Lincoln Mk IV towards end of July ( no trailers needed that time, thank goodness.)
Again I ask all those that are going to the show at Malvern with an Eagle ( PAID UP MEMBERS AND NONE MEMBERS) , to let me know a.s.a.p. this week please.

I dont wanna make it so regimented, perhaps it could be per meal? suggestions are always welcome ( on the food terry!!!) Ideally my hope was to cover the cost of the food and have a small surplus for the club Also as a secondary thought, perhaps the food at shows for members might be an incentive to increase membership numbers. AND Posted by terryrob I think charging per meal, burger sausage bap, breakfast, or whatever is the way to go. You would be lucky to find a burger for £3 at a show Graham, more like £6. No kidding.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Graham's reply..
Members and None members please note ---- Gromit ( Jon ) and Terryrob ( Terry ) have for the past up to 10 years, have provided free food to members ( and even to none members ) and to my knowledge were never reimbursed, except last year when I suggested they charge a nominal fee. I have; since becoming chairman of the club sent out emails to potential members that the committee members had kept the club afloat financially re food etc, and we can't expect committee members to foot the bills indefinitely.
Yes, we have to cover the food costs, and because we look upon ourselves as "a family"; none members were being fed too -- it's just the kind way we are.
We don't have 340 members that an owners club oposite us at Stoneleigh have and charging £ 12 membership which equals £ 4080 per year income. At present, potential members of the eagle owners club is 15 to 20 at £ 10 membership which equals £ 200 max before donations, ( and thank you to those members who have donated financially to the club in small and large amounts ) and the previous 2 years we had a problem with the membership secretary ignoring requests for membership hence no money coming in, and we may have had to close down as a result. There are more none members that show an interest in Eagles and most have an eagle, than members numbers, so the interest IS there.
i suggested rough times for meals as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - and members and none members that pay to come in can't come in till 9:30 am, ( but members camping will be up at 8 am, who will be fed early in the morning ).
Note, any club found selling none Eagle club products, ( Eagle club products would be T shirts / head gear with eagle logo on etc ) will be asked to leave immediately, but I don't think we would be asked to leave for "donations to the club" towards food, as donations are all we can ask for - I think.
Yes, I have to look after the interests of the club.
The organisers KNOW we feed our members and allowed this at the last 2 shows.
But up to Gromit ( Jon ) and Terryrob ( Terry ) to enable visitors, members and none members to know when to come back to the stand for grub.
O.K. it may be left open, it just maybe see how it goes on the day, or have some idea as to "opening times" as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - to be fair to the people that are cooking the food,
It worked well last year with no set times, but see what you 2 come up with based on above - if anything.
