RESURRECTION of my SS after 25 years off the road
Drove it in prfect condition into the garage 25 years ago. I moved away at that time and had 3 jobs in that time, and now have almost recovered from my back injury two and a half years ago and now able to stand and sit down to do work on it. However, it's stored at my deceased Moms Flat, and it is in the process of being sold within 6 weeks - so all the stops are out adding to my hectic life.
The fuel tank replacement and electrical, and rotten exhaust work will have to be done via a paid for mechanic - I anticipate £ 1000 for that.
And not that anyone is interested - 4 photos enclosed ( boring ). New original equipment front brake calipers / pads etc fitted. New rear wheel brake cylinders fitted and new rear brake drums and shoes fitted. ( Engine started regularly in those 25 years - and still within manufacturers compression specs. ) I could have started the work two and a half years ago if not for my back.
I hope to have it at the next two shows, and hope those off the road vehicles for too long a time, are also going to be ready also this year.
Boring photos below.

bought it to build a beach buggy, so check it's not a shortened chassis. Read full description to ensure it will suit your vehicle body. ( lowered )

10mph speed limit reduction to test if drivers would go slower on the M1 has resulted in around £8,000 worth of fines being dished out daily.
Four UK motorways where speed limit has been cut to 60mph
Drivers on stretches of the M1, the M6, the M5 and the M602 have been limited to a top speed of 60mph
The road near Sheffield has had a camera installed on the northbound side between junction 33 and 34 close to Sheffield and Rotherham - where more than 22,000 motorists have been caught out speeding, BirminghamLive reports.

I'd be happy to make a contribution to a new tent as well Thank you too.
Memberhip fees will never generate enough for replacement tents / other items, and we have in the past relied on Terryrob and Gromit ( commitee members ) who have donated many items and use ( to this day ) their own peronal equiptment, calor gas, and previously - free food at shows ( prior to 2023 ) and recent £ 60 banner ( Gromit )
Previous tents were very low cost items ( but adequate ) but a larger tent is needed for Annual General meetings and somewhere to get out of the rain if it rains all day.
Newark 2023 -although I asked for a larger space, none was given, ( space is limited at Newark ) but we did end up using two spaces as the allocated other space - no one arrived to fill it, hence initially there would not have been enough space for the large tent, if you were wondering why the tent was not there. The organisers have now seen our cars increase in numbers these last few years and should allocate the space we ask for.
In order that the space we require to be given to us without question, we DO need members and none members to think about supporting the shows. Unfortunately, for insurance purposes, only members may display their cars on the pitch allocated. ( Membership can be given at the show )
Thanks to all who have offered to 'chip in' for the tent.
Graham

Its late this year I wonder why ? I.ve no idea..
But the two shows were too close together last year ( in my opinion ) and me hireing trailers and getting hotel rooms twice in two months put a strain on my finances. ( Mr Grumpy strikes again )

Thanks for all that are doing for the EOC, Graham. As you know, I have already paid my subscription plus a donation to the newly formed incorporated company. Perhaps I am member No.1 ( or No. 2 after yourself!! )? < New tent approx 3m x 4.5m OR 3m x 6m depending on my finances > Please let me know the different in cost between the two options. I could perhaps absorb the difference, or the majority of the difference, in the cost. It would be a real pity to have to settle for a smaller than desired tent for financial reasons. Dave D. Hi, Thanks for your offer. I thought I had replied to you, but seems to have got lost.
I 'MAY' try and absorb the cost difference if my departed mom's flat is sold on time, as the last offer fell through, ( started 3 months ago )-
No mortgage, so it's free money, but need to concrete a base and build a 4 / 5 car garage with ramps for storgage ( two cars per ramp ) - VERY expensive ! But I'll let you know the outcome.

I don't know if the following shell ( ss ) is still available
Been on facebook for 24 weeks --
In it's current state - worth about £ 500 - or £ 750 at the very most

Hi Ady, welcome to the forum.
You may find it hard to find a stripped body to take a mould from, and a mould from a completely stripped interior as well, as well as removing the windcreen to get an accurate section and size for the windscreen, and double skinned doors with steel plates in the top.
You may as well buy a body -- some come available occationally. Best to look for a cheap none runner or stripped body shell.
But, we all like to do kit cars on the cheap, but it would be too much work, just to save a few quid
But welcome to the Forum.
Graham.

I'd love to see how you have the door rams setup. You all know I am not diplomatic --- Therefore ....
Do you all want to spend a LOT of time and MONEY to have slow opening and closing doors, and noisy doors ? Mine ( normal gas rams ) open in 2.5 seconds and close in 3 to 4 seconds .. Yes - I know you want the Wow factor, but I'll be driving off before you even get in.
Add that time and money on your engine --
Regards: Grumpy old man.

Depends on what R.V. type it is -- VW rear engine / Ford front engine. If ford, does the chaissis come with it ?
Are the following included : - Chassis / Doors / door glass and frames / soft top frame / hard top / if hard top, is all glass included.
I would not pay more than £ 300 if just for a body and none of above included ( others may pay more )
I nearly paid £ 500 each for two Eagle ss bodies complete with chassis, all glass, doors, Just as it comes from the factory, although they were second hand stripped.
Answer above and some one may be able to advise a price.

Eagle Owners Club Ltd
Chairman, c/o 59, Heysham Road, Southport, Merseyside; PR9 7EB info@eagleownersclub.org.uk / alternative hisautos@hisautos.com Trading as Eagle Owners Club, Registered in England -- Reg No. 15374476 Tel ( Mobile ) 07905933113 ----- (Land Line ) 01704-228341
Number 3 - THE FUTURE OF E.O.C. & club news
CLUB NEWS ...........................................................
Dear Member ( paid up members ) / none members
In order to protect ALL members - legally - We are now a Limited Company. Eagle Owners Club Limited at above address.
In the event of us ( The Club ) being sued for anything, means ALL members will be included in the litigation process, but now a member will only be accountable for £ 1 in damages / fines etc. if any litigation is successful. This move is to protect members and the club, mainly at shows where - for instance - you are driving on or off, or within the stand / pitch space and you damage someone else's car on another stand ( your car insurance should cover this ) or you run over a member of the public, that the clubs liability will be restricted to £ 1 per member, max. as your share in the company will be limited to £ 1. Otherwise we could be into thousands of pounds having to be found by the members -- which is now impossible to claim for.
MEMBERSHIP & FEES The club is a none profit club, therefore new membership is increased to £ 12 per year. ( used to be £ 15 per year ages ago ) to cover the above.
( Info -- The Jago Owners cub ( Willys Jeep replica ) has between 20 and 30 paid up members ( same as us ) and charges £15 per year )
I have been extremely busy with my own 2 house move, working on 3 immoveable cars and private litigation against someone else and neglected to prompt people to rejoin. Therefore can I ask you to join / rejoin the Eagle Owners Club Ltd. A new bank account will have to be opened in the new name. We cannot continue to have 4 or 5 people providing funds in excess of the membership fees for ever. Donations by Members exceeded the membership fees received, at last accounting period, and has helped to ensure the viability of the club.
If you wish to Donate any money, feel free and it will be appreciated.
MEMBERSHIP ( what is a member ) Members of the club, are fully paid up members of www.eagleownersclub.org.uk/ not Facebook, located at www.facebook.com/groups/eagleownersclub/
CLUB TENT The 6m (L) x 3m (W) new club tent, although a good quality thick P.V.C. one, was extreemly time consuming to put up and take down. Therefore out of my own money I will purchase a 'pop up' tent, and reimburse my outlay upon the sale of the previous pvc tent, but keeping the tie down rebar ( into the ground special cork screws and rebar )
New tent approx 3m x 4.5m OR 3m x 6m depending on my finances.
FORTHCOMING SHOWS The Malvern show is booked for Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd June 2024 Newark has yet to be booked and is on Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd September 2024 Thank you for your time in reading this. Graham Wood

post number ten of the 2008 thread says
the chassis was designed to have RR parts bolted to it rather than the Eagle bodyshell bolting to a RR chassis.
Anyway -- chassis was only supplied to very few customers anyway

I don't think that anyone would put a ten year old, worn out, Pinto engine into a new kit car without having it rebuilt, but if so to what level ? Any polite comments are welcome. alexdegoult a rather old new boy.
A P21 - is so light, a 2 litre standard Pinto engine should be fine. Too much power would be unmangeable on such a light vehicle.
I have conidered beefing up my Eagle ss engine, but as it has been rebuilt / recondtioned from front to rear and top to bottom only 6000 miles ago, it would seem a waste of time and money. For the thrill of fast acceleration etc, I bought a Porche Boxster 3.2 s ( 11:1 compression ). ( see www.hisautos.com/eagle/e9.jpg both personal No. plates )
