hi, i cant make Malvern but hope to get to Newark for at least one, day, if there is space on the stand I'll being along my slingshot for a few hours as well.
I get where your coming from Graham but perhaps if we said that all members were asked if we should combine efforts in regards food to prevent 12 bbq's been lit allover at staggered times. The members agreed and it was decided that a set amount was agreed upon per meal as a contribution towards the cost of the food.............................................
Thanks for that.
Well, plenty of room in the club tent for the food / tables -- that's what it's for, and to keep out of any rain, and only needs suff to be pushed to one side for an Hour at the most for the A.G.M. job done !
I have a 3m x 3m gazebo too, ( no sides ) so Ill bring that too & if we don't need to use it - no problem--
am hireing an 8 foot trailer ( some tent poles are 7 foot long -and my old trailer is only 5 foot long )
and as I said in my last post ... O.K. it may be left open, it just maybe see how it goes on the day, or have some idea as to "opening times" as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - to be fair to the people that are cooking the food.
Don't worry- it will work out on the day, as it has in the past.
If we don't get any more members renewing their membership by 30th May ( 2 and a half weeks away ) we will only have 10 paid up members, and some of those wont be comming to the 1st show.
I'll send another list out to superseed the one i sent out on 1/5/2023 to you so you know how many members may -- may wish to purchase / donate towards food -- if they are hungry and go to the show.
Not that it's a problem, but I may be hiring a car transporter too, if my legs and back can work on the SS, and in total will cost £ 345.00 for 2 trailers. ( not complaining ) and maybe again for Newark .......... and I'll be at an American Classic show with my Lincoln Mk IV towards end of July ( no trailers needed that time, thank goodness.)
Again I ask all those that are going to the show at Malvern with an Eagle ( PAID UP MEMBERS AND NONE MEMBERS) , to let me know a.s.a.p. this week please.

I dont wanna make it so regimented, perhaps it could be per meal? suggestions are always welcome ( on the food terry!!!) Ideally my hope was to cover the cost of the food and have a small surplus for the club Also as a secondary thought, perhaps the food at shows for members might be an incentive to increase membership numbers.

I think charging per meal, burger sausage bap, breakfast, or whatever is the way to go. You would be lucky to find a burger for £3 at a show Graham, more like £6. No kidding.
Members and None members please note ---- Gromit ( Jon ) and Terryrob ( Terry ) have for the past up to 10 years, have provided free food to members ( and even to none members ) and to my knowledge were never reimbursed, except last year when I suggested they charge a nominal fee.
I have; since becoming chairman of the club sent out emails to potential members that the committee members had kept the club afloat financially re food etc, and we can't expect committee members to foot the bills indefinitely.
Yes, we have to cover the food costs, and because we look upon ourselves as "a family"; none members were being fed too -- it's just the kind way we are.
We don't have 340 members that an owners club oposite us at Stoneleigh have and charging £ 12 membership which equals £ 4080 per year income.
At present, potential members of the eagle owners club is 15 to 20 at £ 10 membership which equals £ 200 max before donations, ( and thank you to those members who have donated financially to the club in small and large amounts ) and the previous 2 years we had a problem with the membership secretary ignoring requests for membership hence no money coming in, and we may have had to close down as a result.
There are more none members that show an interest in Eagles and most have an eagle, than members numbers, so the interest IS there.
i suggested rough times for meals as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - and members and none members that pay to come in can't come in till 9:30 am, ( but members camping will be up at 8 am, who will be fed early in the morning ).
Note, any club found selling none Eagle club products, ( Eagle club products would be T shirts / head gear with eagle logo on etc ) will be asked to leave immediately, but I don't think we would be asked to leave for "donations to the club" towards food, as donations are all we can ask for - I think.
Yes, I have to look after the interests of the club.
The organisers KNOW we feed our members and allowed this at the last 2 shows.
But up to Gromit ( Jon ) and Terryrob ( Terry ) to enable visitors, members and none members to know when to come back to the stand for grub.
O.K. it may be left open, it just maybe see how it goes on the day, or have some idea as to "opening times" as we can't be running a resturant - open all hours - to be fair to the people that are cooking the food,
It worked well last year with no set times, but see what you 2 come up with based on above - if anything.

I'm in Grom, and Lyndon probably. If Graham is in you had better get a few plain chops or whatever, its an option for others too.
Graham is in.
But wont be cooking, but will bring EXTRA tables this time, + 2 burner cooker and gas ( cooker was not needed last time, but available if need be )
A rough time for meals would be adviseable to be stated on here.
If people are only coming for the day, breakfast for them may not be possible, so a price change for them should be considered.
NOTE, ONE burger from the stalls could cost £ 3, EACH, so £ 10 is a good deal.
Another note to eaters that have not had the pleasure on Gromits and Terry's culinary delights, last year there was plenty of variety, and it's camping style food, not a resturant, but my partner and I enjoyed the food, and were thankful of the efforts made by both and volunteer cooks, and occationally, smaller seconds could be available. ( but no apple pie and ice cream )
I have the "Q370VAB" Eagle P21 here in the south of France. It's now LHD having been transfered in Germany and has only 8000 miles on the clock over 30 years. More info if needed
Thanks, have recived your emails -- will be in touch
Most parts on an SS are interchangeable.( correct me if I am wrong somewhere )
Those are. Bonnets / doors / pop up lights / front screen Side glass has hinge 2 holes in different possitions.
Rear window SS is "maybe" interchangeable.
VW body has hole in back for engine, therefore no boot and limited space at front. Ford has hole in front for engine and ample boot space.
Both bodies follow the beetle chassis layout, with slight differences front and rear. Ford one is a complete enclosed tub on flat hollow section steel chassis, has fibreglass floor, and no need to follow the front and rear V.W. chassis

Everything of course is possible. Finally just starting the process of dropping my brand new Eagle RV shell onto a Frontera 3.2 rolling chassis. Just takes time, plenty of on-and-off trial and error. A good imagination and some fabrication skills. As well as lots of patience and a fine sense of humour 😊👍
how much of the body is interchangeable with a Cortina version, does anybody know ?
The Front engined ss ( ford cortina ) follows the V.W. tub, but has a solid floor incorporated.
You could - with a bit of hacking front and rear, interchange bodies between v.w. pan and steel chassis, and vice versa, but don't think anyone on here has ever tried.
i was thinking more of the doors, boot, bonnet, windscreen etc
I and others should use the SS models thread
Why, because this info will be lost in ebay cars for sale, so any one looking for differences, wont be looking in cars for sale. And the search option is not too good in my opinion.

Hi all I'm new here having just purchased an Eagle SS, registered 1993. What I would like is a build instructions.... If there are any? Would any member have one they could scan and send? Thanks Trevor
Hi Trevor,
The Eagle Owners Club Build Manuals and other info not in the manuals.
We have 25 pages of text regarding building Eagle R.V.'s and SS.
To access the web pages for these you need to be a member of the club, but as you have just requested to join the club, then no problem once your £ 10 is received.
I will send you an email today with bank account number etc.etc.
Hi, I'm Dave Rodwell. Just joined the club & currently own an Eagle RV Ford Cortina MK5, 2.3 V6. I share this with my 23 year old son.
Welcome David.
You are now a paid up member of the Eagle Owners club for one year.
I strongly suggest you visit Malvern Kit car show June 3rd & 4th where there should be 2 ford V6's to look at.
To those that have Ford V6's, to let David know ( and me ) if you will be there, and which days.
I also suggest that this thread is limited to above, and all other technical questions / answers about R.V. vehicles be in a new thread / rv linkage one as vital info may be lost on members if tech' info is listed under title "New member" - just a thought.
Hi, managed to rescue an RV from London. Too many bodges to mention. Can anybody please post a photo of their RV's steering linkage. Preferably the UJ section between the bulkhead and the power steering unit. Thanks...
There are may derivitives with the RV.
Rear mounted VW engine on a Beetle chassis.
A Ford Cortina / Siera with front mounted ford engine from 1600 cc to 2300 / 2600 V6
A Range Rover chassis with R.V. body fitted and various engines.
A Discovery chassis with shortend body
Which one do you have.
Ordinary Ford cortina straight 4's 1600 / 2000 don't have power steering and are the most common.
Regards Graham.

Oh dear, I think I may have to put my VW RV on that Facebook or similar... I really do wish it goes to an Eagle enthusiast though... It's not the money I'm after, it's the space.. that's the reality of it all... Titch
Because this is the for sale and wanted page, It would be advisable to show some pictures of the item for sale.
I know you have some in another thread, but important to have them here. People don't want to have to search for pictures.
Also Links to where it is also for sale may be helpful, for us to pass on to others.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I've just checked my diary and unfortunately we are away for the National show this Year, but I'm hoping to make it to Newark, are the rules the same for Newark. I also see that if there aren't enough Eagle cars booked in you might accept other "custom" cars. If so I have a modified Polaris Slinghot, that I could bring along ?
Yep, same show rules for Newark.
Polaris Slinghot, could I bring along ?
Well, we have had all sorts on the plot ( I don't mean cars ) so it's possible.
unfortunately mine wont be ready for this Year, but will hopefully be in a showable condition for next Year, even if its not totally finished. I assume if a vehicle is being shown you would need to turn up prior to the show and then not be able to move it until after the last day ?
No, you can come and go as you wish Saturday or Sunday. no restrictions.( free to get in )
Just observe the 5 mph speed limit, but 10 mph is o.k.
Currently there will be room for all.
Your car does not have to be "showable" nor be "show quality", just arrive any time and leave any time.
Mine may even be on a trailer, missing a fuel tank.
Malvern KIT CAR SHOW 2023 - WITH 2 PLOTS AND PRIME LOCATION.
I hope my efforts will prove fruitful as being in contact with Peter at the show organisers, have secured 2 plots and is right next to the paying public entrance ( and exit ) so everyone that goes in and out WILL pass the Eagle stand.
But I hope that my efforts wont be in vain, and Eagles will turn up, so that at the next event the organises dont take away our spot for 12 cars ( club tents take up 2 car spaces ). for lack of use.
Unfortunately, with the plots being next to the entrance, camping on site is not welcome by the organisers, but camp site is only 20 m away ( 65 foot ).
However, we may ( only - may ) be able to hide 2 small tents behind the club tents, and trees, but no promises.
