Well done Annabelle,
One more saved for now, I hope someone rescues it and makes a good job of restoring it
A fair condition MkI with a screen and some decent wheels too. for that money one can't go wrong.
How is that wrapping looking?

The more observant may notice the scoop/vent one one side is offset slightly, this is due to err....aerodynamics I thought it was to go with the generally asymmetric shape of the SS (and Nova).

As some of you have already noticed Photobucket have decided that they need more income so are now RETROSPECTIVELY charging for hosting photos etc, so previously posted photos are being replaced by a Photobucket logo saying you have to 'upgrade' to their 500 service and pay a monthly fee to continue. Your images etc are still safe on the Photobucket server (for now) but you can't paste the URL anymore. Whilst I can appreciate the need for such servers to generate income, over and above the advertising revenue, I find it reprehensible that it hss a retrospective effect on images already posted. Along with Euro-Nova and other forums we are trying to come up with an alternative, in the meantime continue to use the 'add attachment' function within the forum. it is limited but secure.

Me too Big improvement over the old single push button which was basically just a button to a relay, this one has options and interface possibilities to alarms, locking etc but mainly two modes. 1, press brake and then button, switches on everything and starts engine on one go. Press brake and then button everything stops and switches off. 2, quick press only, no brake and it goes into ACC mode so speedo etc all lights up, radio on etc. press again and starter engages, press again and it resets to all off. The 4 buttons are for, left = (drivers in my case) door only up and down, right = both doors up and down. Switches across are, Side lights (up) off (centre) main (down), Rear fogs only (up) Centre off, front and rear fogs, (down), Fan 1 speed (up), off (centre) fan 2 speed, (down) SS are from Mini countryman side badges and same on rear and side repeaters. Doesn't look a lot different but two hours with a Dremel to make the new start/stop button fit, then I fixed the SS on. Attachment Deleted it's a but fuzzy, I'll do a better one asap

Last time I spoke to Tim about the ill fated TEAC enterprise he said the SS had gone to Wexford, (never to be seen again unless they are the ones in Belgium) and the RV ones were spirited away BEFORE bailiffs came but nothing heard of them since.
Whilst there maybe some mileage left in the RV in a 4x4 version, the Cortina/Sierra version had no plans to be re jigged for a newer donor.
The SS has definitely had it's day and even the original Richard Oakes Nova is fading a bit, Nice examples are not selling well, such as the black MkII with a Porsche 356 engine. Many have been FUBARed when owners try to make a silk purse out of a (nice) sows ear and hack a perfectly good SS about trying to make a 'super car' or a 'modern update', neither of which really work.

Seems to have the 2+2 in there now and a few bids, lets just hope its not just Ford parts harvesting, so many Eagles have been lost in the last couple of years to that, RV, SS, Ford and VW..

A solid MkIII Ford based SS and with a V5, looks to have sold for 1,050.00 so plenty in the pot for paint, carpets, seats and oh boy! that dash will have to go. As long as the new owner doesn't hack it about to make a 'super car' or a 'modern update' it might be on the road quite quickly. Nice slots too.

We had a cracking weekend Peter, Jeff came down from Liverpool and Alan from Telford both in RV's.Our regular Saturday night into Leamington for a piss up and curry was enjoyed by all. any photos? ? be good to see the club stand with some cars on it.. any more shows planned for this year??? doesn't seem to be any mention of any on this site...any get together planned??.. would be great to meet up with like minded car nutz and share ideas and banter.. All very member driven as the "club" seems to have lost momentum although there are a few of the guys and gals still making Stones happen, thank heaven, the whole show thing has dropped off a lot.

I am afraid the forum has been very, very quite this year with the usual disappointing turnout at Stoneleigh (much respect to those who did turn up) and and many grandiose ideas and projects have fizzled out and disappeared.
Whilst there are a very few hard core owners who are doing some sterling work most seem to have lost interest as money, life and work get in the way. Even I have not done much more than fiddle with the new ignition switch/starter button and electrics for two months but I have just had a total knee replacement on the 7th June so I guess I get some leniency.
Facebook is supposed to be self running, it was asked for a long time ago but soon got overrun by all sorts of unrelated posts, commercial interests and so called 'friends' so I don't bother with it any more. I will pop on and activate any requests I deem suitable but I have said many times one must include WHY you feel you want to befriend the EOC so not just anyone gets on it.
Regards, Peter

Nice one Jordie, Shame you don't have time for it.
Description is correct and I would say it is a great start for a project, very solid.
To potential buyers I would recommend just concentrating on getting it all mechanically 100% followed by electrics and then glass. last interior and trim, rather tan ripping her apart to make a 'super car', which of course it never was and never will be.
Windscreens are available from Pilkingtons and there is a thread to that effect on the forum.
I would estimate that with half decent seats, trim, screen, dash and missing bits with a 1600, single carb' lump you would be looking at about 3K on the road which is not bad. Afterwards spend what you will on duel DellOrto, wheels etc..
I hope we see this car back on the road soon.

Seems reasonable, I paid that for my 'box of bits' back in 1995 but that included a re-con 1600 and a Charger body.
The separate Porsche 928 nose says a MkII but the side windows are MkI, (front hinges) so about 1985,

I'm still working away, just found a new ss body that's never been used so there's pretty much no fibreglass work left for me to do, just refurbishing subframes and finding an engine and box to go in I would love to be in that situation. a good virgin shell and a 'Ford' chassis. So many possibilities with just the chassis sat there, all empty. Of course any in-line engine gearbox unit can be made to fit (But I would recommend a max of 120hp to be enjoyable.rather that scary). Nice BMW E36 auto springs to mind. Daimler sovereign rear end, (narrower than Jag version) and you have a nice set up. But endless options, even Subaru 4x4.

Better be an extra ordinary VW project to break a nice early MkII SS, Sadly so many have been lost this way, usually for nothing better than yet aether a bloody beach buggy.

Knee is progressing well and managing to get around a bit but routine is set at up at ten, walk around flat on crutches for 20 minuets, brunch on patio, back to bed at one with leg elevated on a board to keep straight, exercises to straighten and flex and lift, ice pack for three hours to reduce swelling and BIG bruise. Watch Discovery channel until eight, Spanish 'BOOM!' quiz show 'till nine and then dinner in lounge, watch film, (in English) until midnight or one and back to bed and sleep.
Can't wait until I can get my hands dirty again. I have th start button to fit, the 2" 200w tweeters to go in the dash top, button switches into the doors for puddle lights and the SS logo to fit so plenty to do as well as work piling up in the buggy shed.

Agggghhhh the pain, now I don't mind a sharp pain like hitting your little toe on a table leg or whacking your finger with a hammer, these things happen but it is over in a moment and forgotten about in minuets BUT this knee thing is 24/7 and only dulled by pain killers. It has been a week now and I can bend it about 40 degrees and almost straight, only restricted at the moment by inflammation. The surgeon, a nice young lady, said my knee was, "very, very, bad", so in mechanical terms, f****d. Getting about a bit now but still laying with my leg elevated to reduce the swelling and bruising is my fav' position whilst watching the Discovery Channel motor programs that I don't usually get to see. Another week will se me more mobile and I hope o get a mix of Eagle and buggy work by the end of July as it gets stupid busy soon. SS wise I have the new two stage start stop button which has an accessory position, pair of 200w 2" tweeter for mounting in the end of the dash and a pair of 'S' from the Mini Countryman side repeaters for the centre console, I already have a pair on the rear and larger ones in the side repeaters). Attachment DeletedSmall latching button switches for the door lights to fit so I can switch the tilt switch for the marker and puddle lights off or the mini battery packs will go flat in a hour or three if the door is left up.

At long last my knee operation is due on the 7th, so I will be down for a few days. Been nearly as long to get this done as it has rebuilding the SS. Talking of which, I recieved the new start button with ACC position and the little SS (Mini Countryman side) for the consol amd a pair of 2" TWEETERS but no time as yet.

Great news, I fixed the DVD player, it was the ribbon cable from the DVD deck to the main PCB so it all works and can go back in again, just waiting on the start button gizmo and I can finally fix in the console.
