OK - First encounter at Newark!
I didn't expect to keep up with SammSS as my best time is still 44 seconds a mile slower than her cruising speed, but just to make sure my humiliation was total and crushing Sam played a blinder of a strategy. On the Friday evening I suggested an early morning run on the Saturday so as to leave time for the show. However Sam said she would prefer to run later in the day. OK no problem I thought. Come Saturday morning she had a blast on her bike to warm up then brought the race forward as soon as I was up, still cold and stiff from camping. I did my best to warm up but Sam set off at a fast pace which I struggled to match. After a mile or so my right hamstring (which had a slight strain incurred running up to a castle in Germany last week) gave up swiftly followed by the rest of me. As I said - total humiliation!
Sam's comment? "Ooooh, I didn't expect to win!!"
Yeah, right.....
That's my story and I'm sticking to it........
Your "Ouch, I need a chair man." Chaz.
I'll be back.........

Hmmmm. I only went on my bike first cos no one was up & I got bored. Usually I do it the other way round cos running is hard work compared to cycling. I only suggested later in the day cos I didn't realise your idea of early is noon. I did text you when I woke up to ask if you were ready . Not my fault you got a dodgy phone. Never expected to run faster than you actually. Shame about your leg! Rest is all that works

No problem Samm!
Light stretching, Arnica and Comfrey will do it. I'll be fine in a couple of years!

SamSS just walked me round the course she runs. It's all either up or down. No flat bits at all. And when I say up I mean up! The sort of up where you think crampons would be a good idea. I'm gonna have to find longer steeper hills round here!
