Wow, that is horrific. Horrible here in Wales too. Blanket 20 mph. So every town is gridlocked. God help us in the Summer. We are run by globalist greedy mad men

Absolutely disgusting. At a time when, through utter mismanagement from all governments from Blairs 97 landslide right up until now from the labservatives over the last 25 years all costs are spiralling out of control. So what is the government answer??? Trap people and steal more money whilst letting real crime rise exponentially... so sad. There we go... Rant over 😊

Well, as the saying goes: He has 2 chances, slim and none, and slim it out of town!! He doesn't even know what it is. I also loved the part where he says all complete except body mounts. That is estate agent speak for "It's a body sitting on a chassis it doesn't fit" :-) im with you, its a no chance lol, if it was £250 i would consider it You have to admire his attempt though. He either knows exactly what he has and is just trying to get an inflated price, or he is living proof that ignorance is bliss :-)

Still will be ok on unleaded but stick to e5 premium fuel. Still rubbish fuel but not as destructive as e10 for your carb

As a rough guide, if the factory colour of the rocker cover is black, and not blue it is an unleaded engine as I recall from my mispent youth with capri's many years ago. Check the block casting number too if its a 2 litre as that will tell you a lot. But chances are that an 82 engine is a blue rocker cover engine that was originally attached to a 4 speed gearbox

Great pictures, thank you. The only car shows I do are the 2 Beaulieu autojumbles. Would love to do more but I live and work mostly in Malta so time is the hardest thing for me.

Yes, it is back on its factory steel wheels now actually. It now needs a respray as the original paint has been polished so much it is down to the primer in patches and has lost its depth so no shine

Hi Graham. Yes they do rot badly. I am fortunate as mine i s 33k from new and zero rust. I was in New York on business in 2015 and instead of hiring a boring mosern car I hired this. I lkved it so much I bought it and brought it home with me, as you do 😊. Fortunately my wife is very forgiving and is used to my 'oversize luggage' coming home with me!

Hi Graham. Thanks. Yes I messaged the owner. It appears to have no chassis number and no docs and may never have been registered so it now becomes a bigger issue to register it for sure.

Everything of course is possible. Finally just starting the process of dropping my brand new Eagle RV shell onto a Frontera 3.2 rolling chassis. Just takes time, plenty of on-and-off trial and error. A good imagination and some fabrication skills. As well as lots of patience and a fine sense of humour 😊👍

Ha ha ha. I think you are right. To be honest I have no love for any of Eagles products in their original form. Badly designed death traps... but when I stumbled on this forum it was clear that you lot of crazy people were really taking what were unarguably appallingly designed and made kits (technically) and were making them into engineering masterclasses that were way beyond what could have been imagined back in the eighties. And I really love and appreciate that. I have been building cars since I was a kid and creating custom cars for the last 15 years, and I love groups like this who find new solutions to old problems and re engineer things to a superior level. So even though I may not like the idea of Eagles, I go through most of the topics really carefully. And even after 40 years in this game I learn a lot. Awesome...

I agree with Baloo. I have owned 2 Jeeps and they look great but are truly awful. The v8 version drank fuel and sounded great but was sooooo slow. The straight 6 one was better but both rusted like it was a requirement on both the body and the chassis. I haven`t seen something corrode that fast since 1970`s Jap cars! In short, they are junk. Incidentally, you can buy grp and alloy bodies in the US for Jeeps now too. So even they know they are crap :-) I have no doubt that the projects Baloo and I have started will outdo a Jeep in almost if not all areas. If I add a diff lock to my 3.2 205hp Frontera/Isuzu drivetrain no CJ will get close to it on or off road. So that is my reason for this project for those who think us crazy :-)

I am hoping to use the standard frontera pedals and dash in mine but we will see how the nuts and bolts of that works out when I get to that point. The hardest part will be giving everything a metal bracket to mount on behind the grp so there is much more strength and no gel cracking 6 months later.

Hi Terry. It`s funny you say that as I was thinking the same thing. But Baloo clearly knows what he is doing so I guess he has measured twice as they say :-) I put a seat in my shell to see what it would be like and I am pretty sure that if I remove even a few inches from that area I would not be able to drive it. Although I am 6 2“ so maybe if you are 5 feet something it will work, but pedal angles may be difficult. It will be interesting to see what Baloo comes up with I think.

That looks like a great donor Baloo. I bet it has a lovely chassis perfect for the job... You can change the engine to anything you want totally legally too...

I thought about making the doors longer too but ai think it would make the rear end look even shorter then. Which is why I have chosen to cut just behind the door opening just ahead of the wheelarch. That way I get an extra few inches in my load area which gives me a bit more legroom for the frontera sport folding rear seat legroom. Trickier to stretch the shell there admittedly, but worth the effort ai think. Who knows。。。 it all depends where you prefer the different look to be.
