Turning up on Friday is fine as I understand but you will have to pitch your tent on the designated place. Its gonna be strange ! Hopefully all in the same place.

Less than a month to go to Newark now so who's bringing there Eagle? I managed to give my SS a good long distance test last weekend all good now, not so after Stoneleigh as in my haste to get it to the show there were still all kinds of fluid leaks. All being well I will be there for the full 2 days of Newark so please keep a space for my Eagle. I you choose to, what time would you anticipate erecting the marquee tent? As my son will also be coming and we may be able to help. Look forward to seeing you all. Hi Mark, great to see your coming to Newark. Its not too long a trip for you accross country. Eagles attending so far are, you, Dave Dale, Grom, George. There will be room for you don't worry lol. As for the marqee you'l have to ask Graham. I have sugested that we use Groms Trailer tent as HQ for Newark as its far easier to put up and take down and has all the facilities we need to feed us, tea, coffee etc. I will be there I'me just not sure of my arrival time yet. You may have seen my thread with work on my RV, its not gonna make it

Hi there, & Thanks! No on the VW based one it's totally separate as mine.. It was very nicely 'butted' against the 'bulkhead' of the main body too. So well, with large flat steel plates that I struggled once they were off to separate them..only to discover a nice thin & strong matt of fibreglass bonded it together too. Titch Makes working on the engine a doddle lol

So so I've been absent folks.. New computer and too many projects & repairs been going on.. I WILL catch up and get back to speed on my RV.. Got another loom so will be on that asap.. Hope you're all well... Titch Welcome back lol. I have a question, is the front wings section on the vw rv normally removable or have you cut it off. I have thought of doing this to mine, years ago I had a Rickman space ranger and the front was detachable. Very handy.

Hi all, just like to say that you have a member here who would love to help more and get to shows and support the club. So far I have bought 3 RVs. One that is my baby and have used pretty much on a daily baises when possible for many years now. The other two I have saved from the scrap heap after being raped of their useful Ford parts to be used on other vehicles. One I have since parted with to a father and son who hopefully will revive it together and keep it alive. The other I hope to in the near future (chassis work commenced). I live in the middle Wales on the coast at Tywyn, far from anything. Life has got in the way of me coming to shows and I’m sure I’m not alone. I just want to to let you know that I’m aching to get to meet you all and share knowledge and experiences. I can only hope this happens soon but in the mean time I can only really help with any contributions that are needed (money etc) and what knowledge I have. Like you I want to see the Club flourish. So I would like to say All the very best with the show. Wiggy Hi Wiggy, I hope you can be able to get to a show with us one day. As you say life gets in the way and things are not always possible. Please keep us posted about progress on your Eagles. I am in Bridgend S Wales.

>Do we have any confirmations of who is actually coming? answer = no, but we only got about 2 requests to reserve a space at Stoneleigh> >some tried to make it but problems occured and they could not make it to Stoneleigh> I was one of the two who requested to reserve a place at Stoneleigh and also one of the ones who couldn't make it in my Eagle ( My RV dumped all its brake fluid onto the road in Wembley. I had to drive the 7 miles back home around the N.Circular Road on the handbrake - nailbiting stuff! ). I made it to Stoneleigh in my modern car. My RV should be back on the road by beginning July and, excepting force majeure again, I'll be at Newark. If I need to reserve a place on the EOC stand then I would like to do so please. Just turn up Dave there will be space for you.

I have some time now to start putting my RV right again. Last year I installed a 2.0 DOHC sierra engine and gearbox. While this is in place there are issues. The first to tackle is the double exhaust downpipe wants to go through a chassis rail !, to get around this I have sort of diverted the chassis by cutting out and welding in new. Pics below. Heres my shortlist of necesarry work. Not included is the million cosmetic and small jobs. Oh and theres a pic of my jeep,I have to move this lot to get at it. 1 Chassis divert,,,done 2 front springs 3 ball joints have gone tight 4 new fuel lines probably copper 5 possibly change the fuel tank 6 find / fit a suitable fuel injection pump 7 make up a new exhaust pipe to link new to old (stainless) 8 Measure and get a custom propshaft made incorporating a spline sliding section. 9 sort out ecu wiring or go stand alone.

Well to start the list of cars attending 1 Gromit 2 Dave 3 possibly George 4 Mark
Day trippers ? We always get by come whatever. I do suggest though that we use Gromits trailer tent as HQ, we may not have the manpower to errect the Marquee in a reasonable time on show day. I for one am strugling with neck and shoulder problems, the trailer tent takes 30 minutes. We need to sort this out.

Well its gonna be interesting if Grosvenor wont allow camping on pitches. Were all gonna be busy putting our tents up down the camping area on Saturday morning. Who is going to be putting up the Marquee ? Need 4 people for a couple of hours, realy wish we had gone for a pop up ! don't forget its show day.

No camping on pitch? ? Who has said that? That is a terrible idea!! Our pitch is right next to the open air music stage and outdoor bars. Im not leaving my car on pitch to walk for 20 mins to the campsite to see if anything has been nicked! Our pitch isnt big enough anyway! 15m x 10m, if 5 cars turn up it will be too crampt. Already has a downer on the show and we havnt even seen the weather forecast yet! I think its from Grosvener Grom, Gonna be interesting how this pans out. The pitch is tiny even for 5 cars as the tent will take up most of it. Jago have the same size for 10 cars lol but Knowing Gary he will change that. Its a steep hill down to the camping area, they have changed the site so much since 2014.

Just a word to anyone camping at Stoneleigh this weekend. Its the begining of May and from previous experience can get very cold in the evening and colder at night, don't underestimate it take good warm clothing and bedding and then double up lol. A couple of years ago we awoke to find ice on the roof of a Nova parked across the way. If you are there for Saturday night we have a trip into Leamington Spa for a "few" drinks and a curry. See you there.
