Cars like the Eagle SS are like golf, (not a game, a obsession ), you will need to be an affectionado as not only will you get a lot of admiration but you will also need to look after it more then your daily 'euro box car', Whatever you do, DO NOT mess with it other than service and minor repairs, it is what it is and messing with it beyond a pair of seats and a bit of paint has been the death of many a kit car.
I would buy it in an instant, about 60,000 to 65,000 krona would be right.
As my wife would say, Haoot motoring och lycka till

Hi Roony, It looks a nice car and a late Mk3 too, As it is already registered in the EU it should be easy to transfer in Sweden but I live in an EU country too, Spain, and it is a real problem transferring from UK 'Q' to Spanish.

Not much done but progress is progress. made new gear shift and handbrake boots in reed, same materiel as dash and recovered handbrake handle and gear knob (Simoni). Went to fit it as the gear shift ring joins the front and rear sections via allen bolts but can't find them and being Easter all the shops are shut. Managed to get the new trim in place and everything locked together. Laying on my back with my feet in the back windows was not fun but I did get the main connector, LEDs, radio and speedo connections connected. Just need to finally fix the side pods onto the centre which will be fun again on my back. This just shows the new gear knob and handbrake trim.

THAT WAS MY NEXT CHECK AT THE JOINT BY THE GEARBOX. JACK ATTACK WOULD BE DIFFICULT AS THE LINE RUNS DOWN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TUNNEL, LIKE THE REAR BRAKE LINE ON THE RIGHT.
I DID WITHDRAW THE THROTTLE CABLE AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS OLD AND HORRIBLE, I AM GOING TO INSTALL A THINNER INNER WITH A TEFLON LINED OUTER INTO THE CABLE TUBE CONTINUOUS TO THE CARBURETORS.

Managed to get a couple more things done; Centre of dash back in place but lost the lower part of the gear knob, it is there, somewhere. Throttle cable replaced with better, more flexible cable, Tested the 'new' battery and it didn't pass the test on my new charger, tried 'pulse' charging etc but sulphated due to lack of use, They certainly do not like to sit unused for too long and trickle charging each time I visit didn't help either. Spent ages on the bench grinder taking a couple of mm off of the 46mm socket to fit the crank nut on the Suzuki. Bloody Brexit it biting me again, I need to fix/replace the Mercedes 722.7 automatic gearbox on my 2001 A170CDi but the best fixers are in the UK, but not only has shipping shot up but there would be import duty and tax on it both ways which would cost more than the car!. Main problem at the moment is the hydraulic clutch, I have fluid at the master cylinder outlet but don't seem able to draw any through to the slave, weird! Was not a problem before.

May I be the first to offer my apologise for not being there for the AGM. Just not financially feasible from the deep South of Europe these days.
Unless someone is desperate to want to take over the web-master side of things I am happy to continue in that position.
I wish the club all the best and hope that under Graham's leadership it will move forward not just continue as was the case. There are plenty of Eagle owners out there (an estimate of 1,600+ Eagles were sold) but unfortunately all to many are in limbo having lost interest or a major change in personal situations or scrapped for their parts.
It is a sad indictment of today's society that there is an emphasis on work and and family and pastimes are suffer as a consequence.

I have that same vacuum pump kit. They are not too bad. I had a dead hand after pumping my rear brakes. I think the easy bleed kits are better but you need to make sure you can get a cap that fits your master cylinder, make one up if its not in the kit. I had fun blleding my frint calipers, then I realised it was because I had the calipers fitted on the wrong sides so the nipples were on the lowest part of the caliper. Not a problem on the Wilwood 4 pots, they have a nipple top and bottom inner and outer 4 in all per calliper, of course one only uses the top ones,

Finally and very regretfully I sold the BMW E30, only made 3,800€ on it but I loved that old motor but it means one less to worry about and one less to spend cash on. More SS time.
Mother in law pop her clogs at Christmas so we have 10 months of ITV and insurance on her 1988 Honda Civic wreck before we scrap it and it is a wreck, not a straight panel on it but mechanically flies through the ITV (MoT) every year.

I Know I said I wouldn't buy any more equipment but rather sell off a lot of what I have leaving just enough to finish the SS and maintain the cars I have but I caved in and bought a vacuum pump kit, I must say it makes short work of bleeding any fluid, just pump it up and open the valve and whoosh, fluid. only 23€ on Amazon. Only critic is the bleed nipple adaptors are too big for most brakes I do (the Wilwood one are tiny) so the pipe has to be fitted directly on and whilst the pipes are a nice fit and tight they are a bitch to dissemble to pack the kit back in the case, screw-on would have been better. I found out that having the gull wing doors open for long periods is a bad idea, they warp and now I can't get them closed so having to prop them open at the front and hope they warp back. Also bought a new 'smart' battery charger with a "repair" and "pulse charge" functions, seems to work, I tried it on a YTX9-BS motorcycle battery that was failing to charge to it's capacity, seems to have recovered from not taking a full charge to being fully charged. I have a pile of old batteries so plenty to try. The bloody Suzuki AN400 is driving me nuts, new battery and fired up straight away. stopped it and when I turned it over again it jammed after one rev', I can wind it back with the crank nut but jams at TDC so something has gone, again, so head off, again.

The number, if any, is on the EAGLE CHASSIS not the Ford subframe.

Thanks all for the help. Peter - I've tried to find where the kit number might be on the car but I'm not totally sure where you mean from your description photos.app.goo.gl/a6XS4iAGTZF7A2LM8Here's a picture of the front left suspension, could you direct me from there? Am I looking for something facing upward, downwards, or at right angles to the car? I'm tempted to send off the v62 with what I have and see what happens - I've got plenty of time to try again before it'll be road worthy!

Pedro, If you would be so kind as to PM me with that VIN I would be very interested to see how it is made up. Peter

I looked at if it was possible to make up a VIN number knowing the details of the donor car combined with the kit number etc and it is not possible, Neither the old pre '81 or later VIN can be generated as there are certain elements not available to a kit car unless the kit maker has homologated the make and model. No Eagle (or any other kit) has a 17 digit VIN, it is just not possible. The space on the V5c does not require it (they may ask but don't get) and the kit number or VW chassis number is OK. For information only; Not an actual reply. 1, Country of ASSEMBLY, (UK) that's possible. 2 & 3, manufacturer, (Eagle) not registered as a car manufacturer. so no. 4 to 8, body type, style model, engine, ( coupé, 2 door, SS, petrol) that's possible although model is a possible no. 9, security, digit, 1-9, not registered against maker (Eagle). 11 year, possible (Eagle Cars Ltd, 1981 to 1998) 12 to 17, serial number, On Ford kits you will not know this, no chassis and the kit number is only 5 letters and digits, so no, VW is 1958 to 69 is 9 digits and 1969 onwards is 10 digits so that doesn't fit.

If the vehicle is not registered in your name you’ll have to tell DVLA it’s off the road by post. see above If it hasn't been taxed since September 1998 then that is not needed.

The chassis (kit) number is on the left chassis member above the left suspension just before the apex of the angle.
The DVLA do not as a rule identify a car by the VIN or chassis number but only the reg number, If it is a Ford based car chances are it either didn't have a reg number issued relative to the donor car and will require an IVA test or it has a registration number (donor or Q) and the only way to find that is to backtrack on the owners and hope someone has the details.
All old VW chassis numbers are not VIN but no problems,

Well done of rescuing a SS- looks like a lot of work but what SS project isn't.
I did 'try' and ask the garage about the V5 situation and was told to "piss off", so I hope you have bought one that will not require a IVA test.

"As of Stoneleigh 2022 onwards we will NOT be allowing any club to book a club site if the manufacturer of that specific kit doesn’t take a space within the main exhibition hall",
Bit difficult if the manufacturer (Eagle) no longer exists, as in the majority of cases.

you can register a kit car on the donor registration as you score 8 or more and have the donor registration number, you can apply for a replacement v5 if lost, then change name to kit name, Eagle, Nova etc
Problems arise when you don`t know the donor`s reg number then you are in for a IVA test and a Q plate (RV will and has passed the IVA with the gap between bumper and mudguard filled in.). , I know the month my 1966 VW chassis was made but still had to have a 1995 Q.

Always fetch more this side (Europe) of the channel. Very nice MkIII Ford version with a new coat of paint.
I would be nit picking to fault it like why a crap glass in the speedo when a new glass would make a lot of difference to the finish and the centre console is a bit MkI Land rover in appearance but all in all very nice. not too keen on the very plain rear end either. But, each unto their own. I am sure the buyer will 'make it his own'.
