Derick sold his RV so dropped out of the EOC. He has a couple of other kitcars and is currently with my old club the South Wales Kitcar Club. He makes it to Stoneleigh most years.

Apologies for my absense on here lately, Its good to see some progress being made with memberships. All thanks to Graham (RAM) for putting in some much needed effort and drive. I handed over the position of chairman to Graham but I am still available to help out in any way I can. Thanks Graham and Peter.

I would think Peter that the chassis could be modified to use MX5 parts. Its an Ideal donor if it can be done. It has been tried by TEAC which you may remember included me for a while. It will need a completely new chassis to take MX5 donor. Any attempt to fit the Mazda to the Eagle chassis, even the later one, will result in yet another project in a skip.
The car is far from "rare" as new ones can be bought and there are 82 Ford and 21 VW SSs listed so far. Yes Peter, radical alteration or probably much easier to build a new chassis. There would undoubtably be some body mods too. But what an interesting project for a enthusiastic capable Mechanic.

The listing doesn't say they are Jeep doors, why are so many people misreading the listing. The are Eagle soft top doors, the seller has sent me photos of them on his RV to prove it. Should be fine then Rockyward.

I don't think any body parts at all from a CJ7 will direct fit on an RV.

Biggles 1,,,,That was Jon Grindle "Grommitt" going home from the Newark show. The windscreen pushed back with the wind resistance and popped out smashing into his head. MAKE SURE the screen is tight in its rubber. R V's scuttle tops tend to bend downwards making the lower windscreen edge come loose. I have a steel support with jacking screws under mine.

Nickyjuk, Unfortunately there are several problems, 1, cost of the mould would only be justified if several people wanted roofs to be produced to offset the investment. 2, someone with the expertise and space to produce them and store the mould. A great oportunity if you have space and spare cash.

I don't know who has seen it but on the facebook page there is a guy called Barry Hargreave who has a mould for an RV roof for sale. Not sure which one it is either an early type or a Pilgrim one.I will paste here what he said and my reply.
Hi all, I've got what I believe are the factory moulds for the Eagle RV hard top. I no longer need them so I'd be happy to sell them for £450 if anyone is interested.
Hi Barry, now this is a surprise. Do you know if its the one piece type from the early cars, Pilgrim type, or the ones from Jordan developments which will be several moulds for different panels. Cheers.
Question is does anyone want to invest in it, they could be made to order then, a good space would be needed.

Sounds like a very good project for someone with the time to do it. I hope a worthy buyer gets it and does it justice.

Rockyward, a sketch and dimentions of the hood support would be usefull if you still have it. A few people have asked.

Good news you sold your items, I'm not sure why you are not allowed to PM. I'm assuming you have an account as you don't appear as a guest. If you are logged in it should work. I'l send you a PM now, see if you can reply.

I am a new forum member and can't PM members. The wheels appear rusty but its not rust its a really stubborn residue, after about half an hour of metal polishing on this wheel 90% of the dirt has comes off where I polished it by hand. Its difficult to get in the small nooks they'd probably be better off chemically cleaned or maybe some aggressive wheel polish spray. Karl. Hi Karl, if you click on the persons name (handle) it brings up their profile. to the right side there is a send message button.

Well it was as it always is a very enjoyable weekend. There were a few people with rv's in the build that came over for a chat, and lots of interest from the general public. George Hill has his on the road but didn't bring it as he thought there might not be room for him, how wrong that turned out to be.Peter Brown also came up for the day. My mate who usually comes with me with his trailer tent was bringinghis caravan this year but his Kuga broke down on Friday morning so he had to stay home and fix it. I rushed around, bought a bbq and called Jon Grindle and informed him I was gonna have to bunk in his trailer tent. Evening entertainment was called off and the hall closed ? not sure why. Me and Grommitt (Grindle) ended up in Leamington Spa for the second night. Good to see old and new friends again.

I've just got my SS back on the road yesterday, been doing some mods (lockdown special), so please could you reserve a spot for my car for both days. I Look forward to seeing you all again. I doubt a reservation is needed mate, looking at the info on here there won't be many cars turning up including mine. It will however be great to see you there and I hope I am proven wrong. it will be a great weekend whatever.

If you have the chassis number then DVLA can identify it, should be able to register it then.
