Hi,
I just got mocked by Scorpio for replying to a TWO YEAR OLD THREAD, of course I feel foolish who wouldnt but for goodness sake cant we time bar old threads? A year would be plenty but perhaps a month would let us see the real activity level? Older threads although still usefull could turn Red or Blue or move to an archive zone.
Off to bed now
Bye

I don't think this would work as I could create an archive section but this would mean moving every post that has not been used for a set time period manually to this new board. Also all subjects would be under the archive heading not their respective heading as they are now.
I could lock threads that have been dormant for say 12 months. and leave them where they are but unfortunately I can't seem to change the colour of them. (unless our webmaster knows differently).
Either of these options may take some time to do as are a fair few threads on here.
I am willing to try to implement any changes if there is a majority view that it is worth doing.
I will check this thread again on the 10th December to see what is said and go from there.

Why should we not reasurect old threads? It is the green option! ;D We are reasurecting old cars and giving them new life just do the same with old threads. Besides sometimes the old thread is exactally what is required and rather than throw out all of the old discussion you just update or add to the original posts.
Jon
(Looking forward to the day when he can reasurect his own thread about actually doing som work on his SS!)

Get a grip man,
two year old stuff like this is just so out of date. Obviously technical stuff and info that is usefull for rebuilds etc just gets filed away under its appropriate heading. Old chat and stuff goes into archive postings. ***************** New thought!!!!! is there a way to open an OWNERS PHOTOS section where we could put any pics that we want, it could be any photos like family days out in the RV, cool jeeps from other websites, funny pictures, old school photos, you get the picture no pun intended, just a light hearted way to get to know each other a bit better and the sort of things we are into?
It would help if it opened on the one page with thumbnails, and could be scrolled down. The most recent pics get put at the start and after a couple of months get archived.
In a way this could replace the sad looking "gallary" and be a bit more fun.
All the best as ever Allyboy.

There are gallarys from most shows (where photos were available) on the EOC site up tp Stoneliegh 2006 as well as the gallery on the eaglekitcar site (linked). the easiest way to do what you want is to simply open an account on photobucket, (which you would need to post online photos anyway) and put a link on a 'link to my photos' page or forum heading or do your own free web page and put what you like on there as I have ( www.ukhozi.page.tl ). The kind of gallery that was on the old Nova site was huge and took a lot of space, space we can ill afford to use up not to mention the time it would take to edit and police it. A case of 'if you want it, you do it'

Ok, but the linked gallery hasnt changed since I joined at the start of the year and the 2006 show photos are from a couple of years ago.
Just had a look at the link to your site, looks great, how long did it take to put it together?
I know photos can take up a lot of room, remember it was just an idea, if its unworkable then then fine. In Helens reply to an earlier thread she asked for ideas that might help the club.
Cheers

Gallery photos of show's used to be supplied by people that turned up with their Eagles. This years shows would make great viewing an empty stand where the EOC sould have been or even greater amusement poor Scorpio and Roy with their wives at Stoneleigh this year when they erected they tent for no-one with a vehicle to turn up. Perhaps a worse image projector that it looking like it was not updated.

HELEN --- you fibbed-- you posted photos of the empty site and be all veiwed it albeit not in gallery For those of you that know anything about WRC, Last night I was involved in the Chris Atkinson Accident only cos when needed, marshals in the area didnt make a positive decision And I did (as a Regional Organiser / Senior Official) Roy,Heather, Steph and Myself as stated man the tent BUT I find myself in a strange position, I am normally in the decision making position ( normally instant ) I/We are not in a position to answer questions or make decisions as we may say/do the wrong thing, this is why WE feel a committee member ( someone in the know) should be on site to assist. MY thoughts are it would not do Tim any harm to have something/anything on the EOC stand. Helen ( Gary) and you Chris keep things afloat and have got to keep making decisions -- some may not be popular but there is a reason for this - Keep up the good work Please Seasons greetings to All Don & Steph

Just found this............. 6/12/08 Atkinson: ‘That was my biggest crash - by a long way’ Subaru World Rally Team driver Chris Atkinson says the crash which took him out of Wales Rally GB on Friday was easily the biggest of his career. The Australian was air-lifted to hospital for checks after the smash, which happened on the first corner of SS7 at Walters arena, but was released on Friday night after getting the all-clear from doctors. Atkinson visited the service area today and explained what happened. “The car just didn’t turn,” he said. “It’s normally a flat left corner, so I went flat and turned - but the car didn’t. There was ice under the mud and we couldn’t see it. We touched a bank at 160kph and the car rolled - a lot. The first impact bounced the car off the ground and the data showed we were in the air for one and a half or two seconds. It landed quite hard and I was knocked out. Then it rolled about six more times and we stopped 150 - 180 metres from the where it started. I can’t remember much about it but I know it was big - my biggest by a long way.” “My shoulder is a bit stiff and I’m a bit bruised in places but apart from that I feel okay. I’m going home tonight to have a rest,” he added. Subaru team manager Paul Howarth said the tubular steel safety cell surrounding Chris and his co-driver Stephane Prevot had done its job. “It held up very well and did what it was designed to do,” said Howarth. “We’ve sent the car back to Banbury for a detailed inspection to see what we can learn from the accident. That’s the best way you get to learn about safety aspects. The car was fitted with the new FIA safety seats, which may have helped. The main thing is that Chris and Stephane were okay.” Follow this link to watch video footage of Atkinson's crash. www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=300&featureid=883&desc=GB%202008:%20Atko%20offAnd www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=300&featureid=877&desc=GB%202008:%20Hirvonen%20rolls
