Seat belts
I'm nearing putting seats back into my SS. Just as soon as I finish the right headlight and welding some flat bar underneath the body to replace all the rusty stuff. Any idea's on the seat belt type or what car is a good donor for this. I'm thinking basic 3 point type which will keep wife happy. I'm thinking a three point seatbelt should be OK attaching to the floor area's through the fibreglass and and into the chassis. But what about upon high or should I say upon low as its an SS, not much to attach to as far as I can see. Anybody got something similar currently working and how has it been fixed.
cheers

When I took my SS apart the seatbelts were attached as follows:
Bottom outside bolt utilised original hole in chassis. Bottom inside bolt utilsed original hole in transmission tunnel. To outside bolt was fixed to the fiberglass shell behind the oor opening.
Now mive is a WV based kit so not much help if yours is a Ford based it! I am not planning to utilise the top mount as I am not sure of the strength in the fiberglass. I am going to fit a four point harness utilising a cross bar a new roll cage, currently about to be manufatured and the original chassis fittings from the WV.
Not sure if this is any help but I am willing to look for other options if you need.

Mine has a roll bar fitted to the chassis rails. The top mount is to a threaded tube welded through the roll bar. Don't EVER fix a seatbelt mounting to GRP, you'll die a horrible death!

Sounds like a roll bar / cage is the safest solution to secure the top seat belt. Best get my finger out!

As the man basically said if it ain't metal and bolted to the chassis then don't bolt a seatbelt to it !!!! Stu
