NATIONAL KIT & PERFORMANCE CAR SHOW
15/16TH SEPTEMBER
A PARTY ON SATURDAY EVENING
ALL CAMPERS INVITED!
Complete Kit Car magazine has joined forces with the organiser of the
Donington Show, Limelight Exhibitions, to invite all those club
enthusiasts who are camping at Donington (or simply staying on site
after the show closes on Saturday evening), to join us for a hog
roast, drink and live music at the CKC/Limelight marquee situated in
the heart of the club area on the showground.
We've arranged for a monster-sized hog to be cooked and prepared for
the evening shindig, where we'll not only be handing out the food,
but also giving you a beer. And here's the clever part - it's FREE! ;D
That's right, this is an invite from CKC and Limelight to you and
your club members. We'd be delighted to see you there for a chat and
a beer - it's a chance for the magazine to thank the clubs for all
their support this year as well as an opportunity for Limelight to
show its appreciation for your continued attendance at the show.
AND THERE'S A BAND! ;D
When you come along you can also listen to (and perhaps even dance
to!) an exciting band that we've booked for the evening. 'The
Somethin Happenings' should be fantastic, playing a wide selection of
covers, as well as their own songs.
While the exhibition hall doors close at 5pm, we expect the hog roast
to kick off from around 6.30pm, with the band booked to play a three
hour session beginning at 8.00pm. Please note that while we'll be
bringing along as much beer as we can carry and a whole pig should
feed quite a number of people, there is a limit! So this is very much
a first come, first served offer, although there's nothing to stop
you bringing along your own food/drink and joining us for the evening
- we'd be delighted to see you.
TUG OF WAR
Complete Kit Car also hopes to be organising an inter club Tug Of War
competition to be held on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. You'll
be able to enter a team at either the CKC marquee, or inside on the
magazine's main stand. Teams should ideally be made up of eight
members, although we suspect that teams with less (or more) may also
be accepted! The 'Pull Offs' will take place at around 2pm each day,
depending on the number of entries, and CKC will be providing medals
of some description (we've yet to get them!) for the winning team
from each day. We sincerely hope that clubs will want to prove that
they are the best, and we look forward to a healthy competition - is
your club strong enough? Finally, we may well award special prizes to
those clubs which bring us the biggest smile of the day - silly
outfits, wild hair... that sort of thing. Surprise us!
BEST CLUB STAND
Limelight Exhibitions will once again be looking to judge the best
club stand over the weekend. Last year it went to the Westfield
Sports Car Club, with the club receiving not only an engraved silver
cup, but also a cheque for the club coffers to the tune of £250! It's
a great award that needn't go to the biggest display, but instead the
best. So make an effort and who knows, it could be your club.
Please forward this email onto to the relevant person who can let all
your members know the score. CKC and Limelight look forward to a
great weekend and seeing you on Saturday evening.
