Bonjour to you all. I am the happy owner of a black Eagle P21 which started out in England as the Q370VAB in 1992. It was sold over to Germany and then to me in 2021. A 2 litre Pinto engine and LHD since its passage in Germany. Does anyone have the name of the builder ? I would like to know more about the engine, 1982, and what has and has not been done to it before fitting into the Eagle. I can see that the oil sump has been cut short but what else has been done ? Have the valve seats been arranged to take unleaded petrol ? This car was set up as a hill climber, a very short gearbox, racing clips on the hood AND only 8000miles in 30 years. I have checked the online MOTs ! Must have gone to the races on a trailer.
I don't think that anyone would put a ten year old, worn out, Pinto engine into a new kit car without having it rebuilt, but if so to what level ? Any polite comments are welcome. alexdegoult a rather old new boy.

A P21 - is so light, a 2 litre standard Pinto engine should be fine. Too much power would be unmangeable on such a light vehicle.
I have conidered beefing up my Eagle ss engine, but as it has been rebuilt / recondtioned from front to rear and top to bottom only 6000 miles ago, it would seem a waste of time and money. For the thrill of fast acceleration etc, I bought a Porche Boxster 3.2 s ( 11:1 compression ). ( see www.hisautos.com/eagle/e9.jpg both personal No. plates )

Many thanks for your reply. I’ve just figured out, with a magnifying glass, that the car was registered to Mark Stanford, Minehead. This is on the German import papers. I must follow this trail.

After two years I have just seen that my P21 has a "eagle" drawing on the bonnet, black on black ! Is this a one off ?
