How it looks... I wanted the hard top to be as close (height wise) to be as close to the top of the windscreen as possible so I cut the roll cage down. Eventually the jeep will be on smaller tyres and with the suspension sorted it should sit a LOT lower. It currently has 40mm chunks of oak worktop lifting the back end up so it sits level. Current Job...Seat box holes The problem... The solution... Fiberglassed in and body fillered Painted Ready to receive the seat box I made some...nipples. These will be bonded underneath so I can bolt the seats in from the cabin and not have to get under the jeep. Really happy with how it's going. I just have to do the other side now... FYI...cling film does not stick to fiberglass resin. All the parts (panel and nipples) where made on a board wrapped in film and it effortlessly peels off after the resin has set. Anywho Laters, Alan.

Another Update... This time the passenger side. Before... After... This weekend job only took 6 weeks. Nice. Now I'm going to cut a large portion of the tunnel out...

So I cut a large portion of the tunnel out... I did this because there is a large amount of wasted space above the gearbox that I would rather have in the cabin. Plus, I'd lowered the engine by about three inches to get the drive train more inline. This made the gap between the tunnel and the gear stick big as well. I rearranged the bits and made a new tunnel, one which follows the gearbox better. Here's a WIP with the new tunnel just plonked in place... I know, it's a mess but check this out... Nice. Now I'm going to cover it all up with carpet. On top of the new flat square I'm going to fit my heaters. Yes...heaters. I've got my original heater (3kw?) and the up-rated one from CBS. 5kw I think. You can see them in the passenger footwell in the WIP photo. I'm gonna use the big one for the demist and dash vents and the little one for my feet. There's also going to be a study metal bridge over the front edge of the new tunnel square which will prop up the valance area coz mine has sagged a lot. Any way see you at the show. No jeep this year though...

looks good to me, I like the idea of lowering the tunnel, the one in the eagle ss is equally obtrusive

I think they design them so one size fits all but I've only got a small pinto not a mahoosive V8 so I didn't need the space.

That looks really good. I'm fitting a third seat in mine, so the tunnel is very awkward. With a large gearbox and transfer box in mine the tunnel has got even bigger! If you can trim the tunnel down, it looks like a good option. I've decided to install the battery underneath the passenger seat, so have cut half of the original seat box out.
