Hi,
I have a 1979 Jeep CJ7 with a totally rotten body tub.
I was looking at an eBay advert for an Eagle RV and it looks very close to the Jeep body.
Does anyone know how accurate it is, I am wondering if I can throw away my tub and fix one of the Egle RV bodies on.
I realise it won't drop straight on but more interested in the faithfulness of the copy.
I know I can buy fibreglass bodies for the Jeep but they are extremely expensive.
Thanks.

Can't really help but can tell you that the RV tub is an inch wider than a CJ7. I would expect that you'd have to cut the complete floor out of the Eagle tub and fabricate a new one, to make it fit on the chassis. New glass fibre tubs are still available for CJ's, from people like 4 Wheel Drive Hardware. Very expensive though, once shipping has been factored in.

If your body is that bad, then the chasiss will also be rotting from Inside, as well as outside. And probably now much weaker than when first manufactured. Do you want to take that chance ? I would not.
