It was me! I'm currently fitting a RV body on my LandRover chassis but my brother has a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara TD, the body is dissolving like an alka seltza in warm water and the wheel base looks about right for an RV body. Is that the chassis you've used?

Is that the chassis you've used? Hi yes those pictures are of an rv body on a vitara chassis, vitaras obviously come as swb or lwb and there is a mk 1 version and a mk 2 or grand vitara version dimensionally they are the same but there are significant difference on the chassis and with the way the back axle is located also the mk 1 has a steering box while the mk 2 has a power rack both mk 1 and 2 have their advantages and disadvantages. lwb vitara has a wheelbase of 98" and the swb is about 87" i think the rv is around 93" wheelbase those numbers are from memory so may be a little off, so which ever vitara chassis you use you have a mismatch, i used a swb which is why my front wheel is to far back in the arch, now i was planning on chopping a bit out of the body just in front of the windscreen to make the wheelbases match all doable i think , how ever i stumbled across a mercedes G wagon rolling chassis which is 93" wheelbase and the chassis has some similarity to the rv's chassis and the body drops on much easier, the landrover 90 is almost 93" wheelbase as well so that would be a good choice but its was the diff locks on the Mercedes G wagon that swayed me lol, anyways i still like the idea of using a vitara chassis for a soft roader even to the point of thinking of making a a RV look alike out of metal that drops straight on to the vitara chassis body mounts, then take a mold of it and see if i could sell any, no iva required and many engine options from the 180 bhp 2.7 v6 through 2lt 1.6 and diesel options, anyway i doubt there would be a market for the bodies and nothing is likely to happen other than i might make one for myself, g wagon chassis is currently in storage waiting for a space in the workshop which at the moment is occupied by a jago jeep that ive fabricated a new chassis for as part of a full rebiuld cheers Andy
