Hi, after a bit of a long search, I've managed to find myself an Eagle RV. It doesn't have any number plates a logbook, and after a quick inspection, I can't see a chassis identifying number either. It is quite distinctive, with big round bumpers (not currently attached) and BF Goodrich decals on each side. I wondered if anyone recognised it as it was clearly once well loved? I'm hopingthat someone may even have a photo of it somewhere?! The roof is separate, and it has never had doors fitted.

Hi Nick, First off, welcome to the Eagle forum, (CLUB membership details on web site)
I have looked through all the photos of RVs, and I have a few, and nothing, a couple look close but you say never had doors so that was out.
You could ceck though the Eagle car registry, (link at top of page) and see if the location colour etc matches.
Looking at the car I would say it is possibly an unfinished project car and never been on the road, yet. Check to see if it has screw holes back and front for where number plates have been.
The 'chassis' number should be on the left chassis leg above the front suspension, by the angle, it is not a VIN.
In any case if there is no V5c and no record of registration number you are screwed as DVLA don't index cars by VIN but by reg' number, stupid I know but that is the fact, no reg number and its an IVA, good news is an Eagle RV has passed the IVA with a couple of modifications to fill in bumper to wing gaps, so, unlike the SS which has as yet to pass the IVA, it is doable.
Best of luck with it
Peter.

Thanks Peter, I've taken another look this morning and can't find a chassis number. There is a bent/broken screw stud where I suspect the number would have been. I presume it was on a plate, not stamped into the chassis?

Yep, about there. but it is only a short kit reference number not a VIN as such but would probably been on the V5c as such.
Have you tried tracking past owners to see if they remember anything or have photos? Are those tell-tale screw holes there for number plates?

The guy I bought it from had had it for quite some time. I don't think he has details of the previous owner any longer. There are a load of bits in the back, so I'll go through those when I get a free moment in the next couple of days.

Searching through the assortment of bits scattered in the back and footwells hasn't turned anything up. Nevermind, I was originally looking at rebodying a Landrover Discovery with the RV shell, but didn't want to use a RV that could be put back on the road easily. As this doesn't look to be the case, we're back to the rebodying a Landrover Discovery project.

Don-t forget if you use the RV body as is you will need to shorten the Rover chassis, so back to the IVA. you could keep Rover chassis and streatch the rear from behind the doors.

Hi Nick, I also contemplated bidding on this Jeep too as it had no registration and thought It would be good source of spares (especially as I need lots of parts for mine lol) Let us know if you go down the Land rover chassis route as I think there will be some useful bits left over that you wont need if you would like to sell them. Regards

If you and other RV owners let me know what you need, I'll see what I have. Please be aware the RV is incomplete, but I'll help where I can.
