Hi Guys.
Up for sale is my Lotus Eagle SS. The car is 99% complete but will need some assembly. The body is a MK2 painted in white with red ears, mirrors, spoiler etc... Comes with both MK1 & MK2 bonnets.
The car is based on a 1991 Lotus Excel SE, using the highly sought after high compression 912 engine as used in the Lotus Esprit from 1987 on. Gearbox is the bulletproof Toyota W58 from the Excel. The chassis is galvanized but painted white, all suspension components are powder coated red, assembled with all new poly-bushes or new original rubber bushes where poly is not the best option. All brake discs, wheel bearings etc... are new, it's worth mentioning that the chassis has been built from scratch in my dining room so every part is still as new as you would expect out of a box.
The wheels are the 15" Route OZ's from the original car but I don't think they suit the Eagle. In the condition they're in, I would expect £500+ off Ebay.
The body itself has got the floor from the Lotus glassed in professionally, with a carpet in you wouldn't see the seam. The wheel arches have been moved to accept the longer wheelbase, the moulds come with the car. The headlights are Fiat Coupe & have been fitted correctly. (Planning was involved, they actually point in the right direction) The tail lights are Lotus Elise style, not genuine. They are 6 round LED lights but will need a bit of fettling to fit. (Not as bad as it sounds) All glass is present, the new windscreen is in safe storage at my work until needed.
When I bought the donor Lotus I ran it for a month to find any issues with the parts I was going to use & found none, took it for an MOT & it passed. My mates find it hilarious that I got the only good Lotus ever made & I took it apart. There is enough left of the original car to keep it legally registered as a Lotus, we all know how important this is. Once the car is built, I will even arrange AND PAY FOR it's first MOT. In exchange for a 5 minute drive in the car i am simply gutted I will never find the time to finish.
The seats are new, in red & black with new 4 point harnesses, all dials are new LED, the rear view mirror is a telly with a rear mounted camera & can also be used to watch DVD's, the 7" sat-nav does the same. Has heads up display on the windscreen, can't beat a bit of TOP GUN! All these parts are brand new in box.
The exhaust is a 2.5" stainless with tubular manifold which is truly a work of art. The manifold is £900 + vat, the rest is bespoke as I only wanted a single exit. The manifold you could sell, the rest would only fit this car.
Runs on twin Dellorto spec 9 DHLA 45 carbs, with genuine Lotus flame box. I can supply a Lotus Esprit Turbo plenum chamber to use as an air box if preferred (that'll confuse people)
The cam carriers are the very late high compression type, I sell these at work for £1000 + VAT, cams are 104 & 107 MOP. The car produces 180 BHP.
If you aren't too worried about the spec I could supply a 160 BHP 2.0 907 engine instead for a greatly reduced price. Alternatively, I can stroke this engine to 2.5 with lightened pistons & rods, fuel injection etc... to give around 300 BHP. Not a cheap option but a LOT of fun.
Sensible offers, Mark on 07908179818.
