If I put together a fixingg kit for MkII and MkIII side windows consisting of 4 clear M6 and 2 x M 8 clear grommets, 4 x shouldered bolts and 2 x catches.
Anyone interested?

Slightly unrelated question, are the doors between mk1 through to 3 all interchangable? I have 2 sets of doors and only one set has glass in it

Hi Peter, did you put the repair kits together? I would be interested in one. I have a MK2 and my side glass is 5mm thick, would the grommets fit? Thanks Paul

hi, id also be interested, not sure if i have a MK1 or 2 though, but its based on a Cortina with the round popup headlights if that helps

That was SIX YEARS AGO. I no longer have access to the parts as I did back then.
Somewhere I did post dimensions for the grommets though so it is a case of hunting them down on eBay etc.
In answer to your questions regards the doors. The MkII and III are the same as is the glass, it should be 4mm tempered. (Or 5mm acrylic or polycarb')
MkII and MkIII fittings are the same with grommets in the three holes, two small and one large at rear. held in by M6 bolts and Nylok nuts.
Rear fitting is a VW beetle front quarterlight catch slightly modified.
All doors fit as the body didn't change only the nose section on the MkII.
The MkI had hinges on the front edge and most car rear window s that flip open such as FIAT should do. Rear catch is still VW.
