Just hope the RV hard top that was on ebay last w/e , ended up at a good home. Was bidding, but out while it ended. Someone got it for £109 !!!!! I would have gladly paid double that. Have been told that it only went up in the last 8 secs........reminder to myself..put a higher limit on next time. Drat and double drat.

John, any chance you could get a mould made of your hard top or get someone to make one? That way we would at least have to option of makeing new ones.

It's a question of cost Peter. Demand is never going to be more than around 15 units in total and that would probably be spread over a number of years. It would be impossible to break even. On the other hand, if somebody would like to borrow mine, do the work and fund the project I might consider it (as long as I had a large returnable deposit up front).

Hi Does any know what the cost would be for getting a mold made of the hard top and also the doors? And then the cost of the hardtop and doors to be made.
Has anyone collated a list of people that would be interested in the top and doors?
Thanks

I reckon after all the work making the moulds then producing the doors and top, sourcing the glass, rubber seals and hardware you'd probably be looking at at least £1200 for a set (if you had 10 sets made). This is only an educated guess based on what it cost me to have a couple of Harley Davidson XR750 seats made. Seriously, who would pay that sort of money for doors and top (and are there even 10 people in the world who want them)?
It's a sad situation really. I think for doors, I'm going to try and make some metal tube frames and then skin them with alloy. Not sure if it will work but worth a go.

Tube skinned with ally would probably be better than the eagle doors, I have a pair with wind up windows on my rv and they are rubbish. The earlier ones with sliding glass are much better but less practicle in the summer (when we get a summer ).
