I'm thinking about making some half doors with slot-in perspex tops for the RV a bit like those you can buy for the Jeep.
If I do, is it worth me taking moulds and doing it properly ? Would anyone else be interested in some, if it worked. Any thoughts?

I want to make some better doors for my RV, was thinking of aluminium, either full door or two pce with removeable upper section. Would be interested in swapping ideas before I start (won't be until winter - need to change the gearbox and sort the head out first).

Just need to ask yourselves what would provide the best finished item and what would have the most potential, a one off or a proper moulded job with possible repeats? No contest!

The aluminium (or steel) route need not be a one off, could be designed for small batch production with some simple jigs. As usual cost will be a major factor. Have an open mind at present and will talk to David in more detail. It would be good to have a better option for the RV in future.

I just wish we had the RV under the same care as the SS is.

Thanks for the support chaps. I'll see what I can do about the situation with Jordan Developments & the long term future of the RV. Tim

Well, as things seem to be a bit quiet on here at the moment, I'll update on the (lack of) progress made on my RV.
I've got on with starting to make a buck for the doors and i'm very happy with how it is turning out.
Obviously the door openings are of a different size and shape to each other! I wonder if that is typical of all RV's or just mine? Any other owners out there able to measure their door openings?
I've just got some bodywork rubbing down and gel coat crack repairs to carry out before finally hitting it with paint.

David.
Just made a quick measurement of my RV door apertures. Taking a line at the top of the upper door hinge to the top of the rear of the door aperture on the visible surface my RV measures 930mm LHS and 925 RHS. Is this similar to your body? Let me know if you want any more specific data.
Regards, Chris.

Hi Chris, that sounds about the same variation as mine though the actual measurement, i guess, depends where your door hinge is! Mine arn't even in the same place from side to side!
I've now got both bucks built, just need to smooth out the rough edges and take a mold.

Hi David,
Sounds good. Just checked my doors as the door to aperture gap seemed similar both sides, the doors are different dimensions as well, about 5-6mm.
