Getting there (slowly), but has anyone come across a problem with their seat (driver and passenger) being so close to the roll bar that the seat belt won't rewind? Is this a proble with the mot?
Even if it isn't I'm not happy with it and want to do something about it. I have considered swapping the seats over to use and mounting the seat belts off a bar running down from the centre of the roll bar? Anyone any other solutions (and no, there is no room to move the seats over and too far down the road to swap for something else). Ths has the benefit of been able to remove the dangerously positioned top seat belt mount from the roll bar and apply some padding to it to protect my head in the event of a side impact.
Anyone experienced similar problems and have a good idea? I'm too tired for good ideas here, I'm afraid.

Could you post a picture of the problem? Not sure where the problem lies, is it at the top mount or at the bottom? Could you use static, non retracting, seat belts?

Hi Peter. I'll take some pics and post them (hopefully) later.
The stupid thing is, I've been aware from the outset that the seats rubbed the roll bar but didn't associate this to be a major issue until putting the belts in!
The difficulty with changing the belts is that the Rover 200 seats I've used have the belt plug attached to the seat frame which is bolted into the seat belt mount. Change the belt means changing the seat base mounting!

You need to contact renegadejeff
If I remember correctly he put Metro seats in his RV but her reversed them, so the passenger seat became the drivers seat.

That is what I think I'll do, but I will need to reverse the seat belts too, as my belts plug into the seat base. Therefore i'll need to create a point to mount the belts in the centre of the car (off the roll bar)

Started to swap the seats over and think about how to mount the belts in between the seats and then had a brain wave. ..... if I mount the belts on the back of the roll bar at 90 degrees to the current mounting point, the belt no longer runs up the side of the bar and doesn't get jammed against the seat.
So hopefully problem solved.
Sometime the best way to solve a problem is to leave it alone and come back to it another day!
