Due to “her-in doors” giving me ear-ache about the RV body being an eyesore in the back garden for her whilst Im in Spain, we’ve had a re-think about the RV that my dad bought from ebay off Colin last week. He paid £250 for the RV and £250 for delivery. He only really wanted the gear box but he will make good use of ALL the new parts for his RV. So he’s asked me to put the body, chassis, seats and wheels on ebay. Before I do I am giving club members the chance to buy them first. If you are interested then get in touch immediately, because it will be on ebay soon and besides that, I will be gone on the 5th March, and it has to be sorted out by the 1st March at the very latest. If you need to rent a trailer, then there is a company near Preston who charges just over £30 per day inclusive.
Firstly the bare chassis.
The chassis has NOT been sand blasted but has been rubbed down, cleaned and re-painted to an excellent standard by Colin who has put his heart and soul into it. Me being a bit of a perfectionist would have no problem using this chassis as it is.
The Body.
The GRP of the body is thick and well made and is the older style body with the built in rear boot and with no lip on the underside of the wheel arches. It needs quite a bit of work to restore it to its original glory. There are loads of gel coat cracks, and one of the wheel arches is cracked. This sounds worse than it is but is quite easily fixed even if you don’t know much about fiberglass. I have been in the fibreglass business for 20 years and it would take me about 2 or 3 days to do. If you are thinking I could do it for you, you’ve got no chance because I will be in Spain. I’m just giving an indication of time by an experienced GRP man.
And then of course it will have to be painted.
Wheels & Tyres.
The wheels are painted silver and at first glance, look great. But would benefit from a good rub down and a bit of paint. The tyres are in great condition with plenty of tread and they are 225/60-15. They are really wide but I think a bit small in diameter for an RV. Hairy Steve from the North East with the yellow RV has smaller tyre’s on his RV and they look great. A bit like an easy rider. I’m feel sure these tyres and wheels would fetch £100+ on ebay if advertised for a Westfield.
Seats, Front & rear.
They are all matching and are “I think” in good condition, but have new’ish moss on them. I’m sure they would clean up good with a bit of elbow grease as the moss doesn’t appear to deep.
And that’s it. If you want any of these things then make me a reasonable offer. You must be quick and get it moved soon because they will be on ebay in about 4 days, (Today is 19-02-07) and I wont be dealing with anyone after the 1st March as my misses will want me all to herself for the last few days before I move to Spain. (God help me). Until then my number is 07883 029424. If you want the wheels and tyres they will be £100 because if anyone offers less I will give my dad £5 more than you. Bye for now. Jeff.
Bye the way I'm in Widnes, NW UK, Junction 7 on the M62.
