Hi all
going for an MOT next week, and the examiner has asked me what the weight of the car is to test the brakes.
Does anyone have any views or ideas of the weight od an RV?
Thanks all

no idea on the weight of the RV, however I do know the SS is meant to be approx 750kg or thereabouts, dont see the RV being to far from that weight Brett

Surely the Mot station has rollers which weigh the axle as part of the brake check process, Our local one where I take all our kit's has. I thought it was a rule now that they weigh them

I just looked at my log book and mine islogged there as 3499KG, which is bound to be wrong. That makes it 4 ton ?. I remember having it weighed years ago and it was about 18cwt. Theres a scrap metal dealer just down the road from me who I know fairly well I,m going to ask him if they will weigh it on their bridge, but that will be a few days away yet. Ask Derick if he has a weight on his log book.

Item G on the reg doc is rarely filled in unless it's a new car. Modern MoT stations have scales built into the brake rollers.

Acording to Don if its not on the wall chart of cars that the mot station use the weight is not required. Neither is a brake roller test it can be done with the in car testing device. And I know this is correct as I have just got a brand new MOT certificate based on this.

all kit cars would be tested as all classic cars ---- use a tapley meter (decelerometer ). most imports would be tested the same way as there is no accurate way of determining the weight.
Your mot test station does not need the weight
I know of a station using a toyota previa chart weight for an imported 4 x 4 delica ... cos their similar !!! PLONKER.
The vosa print out when you log in will normaly have a weight, if it does not then tapley, some rollers wont do 4wd - ours will - but vosa will always advise if unsure that you wont do any damage then tapley
our rollers do not weigh -- been advised some modern ones do
