last night i had a dream about stoneleigh, i was walking across the show ground towards the eagle owners club pitch with my head down, i lifted my head to behold a wonderfull sight, the pitch was full with eagle jeeps , so much so that owners had to park their jeeps on the roads that seperate the different clubs, red jeeps, yellow jeeps, black jeeps and so on, all of a sudden i felt a sharp jab in my back "you goin to that show today" i rolled over in my bed to behold my wifes face glaring at me "you'll never guess the dream i've just had" i said to her "just make sure ya back in time " she repied, I jumped out of bed and began to hurry getting myself ready, the wonderfull details of my dream rushing around in my mind "it had to be a sign, it has to be a sign" i thought "this was going to be the year eagle jeeps returned to stoneleigh" i thought. I raced to the show as fast as is legally possible "that will be 15 pounds please sir" came the voice behind the entry kiosk, i quickly fumble in my wallet and pulled out a 20 pound note, handed it over and raced on passed her "your change, your change " cried the voice behind me "keep it" i shouted as i raced on without even a backwards glance, i pushed on through the croud, i could see in the distance the eagle owners club flag blowing proudly in the wind , passing by the squeeling caterham, and rushing through the multitude of jago jeeps with my heart racing and bent over double through shortness of breath i had finally arrived at the eagle owners club pitch, I slowly lifted myself up to behold this years offering from the eagle owners club " THREE GLUM LOOKING MIDDLE AGED BLOKES SITTING ON DECK CHAIRS OUTSIDE A TENT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EMPTY PITCH"

img69.imageshack.us/i/dscf1484s.jpg/Uploaded with ImageShack.usYes we were glum > Rv's were promised and didn't arrive, in fact for the first year I didn't see ONE Eagle at Stoneleigh My own Rv is on the road > I finished fitting an engine last week that has been stood for 30 years, I did not want to risk towing a caravan 120 miles on such a hot weekend, cardiff to stoneleigh is mainly uphill so I want to put a few local miles in first, but it should be at a show next weekend. Uploaded with ImageShack.usMy 'main' concern is that not one committee representative attended the site while I was there sat/sun, so there was no EAGLE OWNER CLUB info available.

Committee, we have a committee? As all committee members are supposed to stand down on 1st May each year for re-election at Stoneliegh and we haven't had an AGM since 2006, we don't actully have a committee, but all praise to the few who are holding the fort.

do you know what, in spite of spending all bank holiday Sunday at stoneleigh walking backward and forward to the eagle owners pitch only to find myself disappointed time after time, like a complete saddo guess what............... yep you guessed it i was back there today, and yes there was one eagle jeep "white in colour" and one ss "Matt black in colour" and all of a sudden people get excited at the fact that one of each has turned up it's just crazy when the appearance of a single eagle jeep at stoneleigh generates the same kind of excitement as a rare 1930's vintage Bugatti turning up and just across the road are the jago jeep squad with 20+ vehicles and a big marquee, and in case anyone was wondering NO THERE WERE NO GLUM FACES ON THEIR PITCH, QUITE THE OPPOSITE. until the time comes when the eagle owners club committee is populated with road worthy eagle jeep owners who seek to attend the shows and give the every day bloke who comes to the shows a good enough reason to search ebay and the small ads to find an eagle of there own to do up and join the club and begin to swell the ranks of those who are already doing there bit , this club will continue to die a death what possible reason or encouragement has the biggest show of 2011 given for that to come to pass.

I used to go to stoneleigh, but not anymore, I find its very over hyped now. most of the manufacturers have bit the dust due to the recession and the ticket price has gone up. Most of the interest is in the newer models anyway, sevens and altimas. Its a shame but I have never seen an SS other than mine. I think this club needs new blood, a new badge with some fresh ideas. The nova guys seem to be doin great, even this forum is pretty dead now.

in the middle of january this year in the (doors thread) i tried to get people motivated for this years stoneleigh show, the response was that i should lay off the coffee and stop taking proplus. maybe that got the laugh that was intended but as it has turned out the joke is on this club because on sunday in the most profound and truest sense of the term the eagle owners club became a complete and utter waste of space you used the word dead to describe this forum, and dead it is, all that is left is to choose the headstone HERE LIES THE EAGLE OWNERS CLUB A NOBLE PREDATOR AT IT'S BIRTH A COMPLETE TURKEY AT IT'S END

Yes it was a poor turnout, my car is a month or two from being roadworthy yet. But, I turn up and hope that other members will turn up and meet each other with or without cars. This is still the biggest show of its kind in the world and a great social event. The EOC will not die because a very few of us will keep it going. If anyone would like to take on any role of the commitee and have ideas on how to get owners to to attend shows they are welcome to put their names forward. As it is we can't even get enough to hold an agm ! Thanks to all that came this weekend, I won't say made the effort To attent the main show of the year and meet fellow members and possibly many friends and aquaintances should not be an effort. For me, at the start of each year I can't wait for stoneleigh to arrive. The pitch is provided every year, all we have to do is turn up .

Hiya terryrob Great to shake your hand at stone's 2011 It makes me sad to see clubs dying because people don't make a effort Some cars will be welcome at club Nova the Eagle SS. But the Eagle RV is not a beetle platform baced kit car. You can't do it all alone come on EOC support your club Ben

I would like to say (from a very wet Marbella) a big thanks to the people who did turn up this year and to the three Eagle owners, just a shame the other estimated 32 couldn't make the effort though. There IS a forum for members to blow of steam in privet, just PM me for the password if you don't have it. Peter

Can't believe I missed the jeep on Monday, went there on Sunday to leave disappointed. I shall endeavour to have my Eagle there next year - mid build, after buying one last October and stripping it back to bare metal.
Currently putting new wiring loom in, and hopefully not to long to see if it will go again! Hopefully a respray in the summer....RED!

good job it called the eagle owners club and not the eagle drivers club. Way back in the day it was invisaged the club would be more about getting and keeping the cars on the road that about driving them.
