Hi guys.
I was a long time owner of the above vehicle and was wondering if it's still about as I would love to get her back to a once loving owner.
Any info on where my old RV is now woukd be very appreciated.
Or does anyone know anyone with an RV for sale?
Best regards Delbert

Many thanks for the help, most interesting but a long shot I am sure. I notice that my old RV is not on the register so I thought I would add some history. Originally built by John Downard (I think) in Brightton. I purchased it 2 years old mostly finished condition and then I started to finisher it off. The engine was a 2.0l Pinto, this was then modified by taking 1.5mm of the head to raise compression, addition of a mild cam and the mandatory Webb 45 carb. The flywheel was skimmed to lose weight, side exit exhaust. The suspension was raised by six inches by welding additional spacers to the frame. Rear suspension was converted from the horrid Cortina link rods to leaf springs. I doubled up the front bumper by adding another box section 1 inch below. Hard and soft tops with hard doors. It had Bedford rear bench seat and SRI front seats and a custom dash. I added cranked grab bar from the roll cage loop to the front windscreen rather than the normal straight pipe. I have added the only pictures I have but they show the RV at her worst and just before I sold it, really only needed a repaint. I miss it :-) Question: what is the going rate for an RV in road worthy state and is there anything to look our for re "Q" and non "Q" registrations because if I cant find my old RV then I would love to own one again and have the time to use it now?.

Hi Simon, I have added the RV to the register but I only update monthly and just done that so FRV82 it is. Apart from a perceived stigma regards a Q plate there is no difference once on the road and there is no difference MoT, tax insurance etc. in fact from the right people it can be a lot cheaper for a kit car than a Jeep CJ6 for example. Unfortunately many RVs and SSs have been lost for their Ford parts to Cortina restorers but yours is still very current on the DVLA register so there is hope. The only way is via the police computer as far as I know. www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla is the site but just wanting to locate the car is not a "valid reason". but a policeman can search DVLA for ALL details. It can be done. TIM Dutton was the owner of Eagle Cars (along with his cousin Allen breeze) from 1981 to 1985 when it passed to Reg Budd.

Hi Peter,
Very interesting indeed, many thanks for that.
So my aging brain got the builders name slightly wrong as I have now found the original number plate for the RV, on the bottom of the plate is states Built by "John dow*ard" unfortunately the character represented by the * is unreadable but I suspect its John Downard.

Mission update.
So far I have been on a total mission, I have sent emails and posted on almost all the general kit car club forums in the south of the UK.
I have also posted on the south coast Kitesurf forums and the British VWT4/T5 forums but no bites as yet.
Next on the investiogation list are the next steps in my search. - Post on the UK surfing forums - Post on a kitcar group with 2000 members. - Ask an MOT station if they can tell me where the last MOT station was. - Get my mate to touch up my best picture and make the paint look good all over, then consider paying GUMTREE to put this as a prefered advert for 7 days. - Email all the indipendant MOT stations and ask them, not really the sort of vehicle Halfrauds would touch or know how to MOT.
I have found out that Q66 ANJ has only 1 MOT issued in the last 9 years and that was last year from 31 Oct 2014 through to 31st Oct 2015 but nothing else. That record shows a clean PASS and even gives me a MOT certificate number, I had hoped I could use that to track down the MOT station which in turn would give me a 20 mile radius to focus on but no banana.
I wonder if a friendly MOT station can find the last MOT station using this information? I can't see that being a Data Protection issues as no personal identification information is being asked for or released, its just like asking for conformation that an MOT was done, from there I could continue looking. I am going to ask this question soon.
I have seen every possible kitcar and jeep and black jeep image google can provide and nothing I even went international with those searches but nothing.
I have found some more pictures, one of it in its full glory and painted Silver and a number pre suspension and engine modifications and myself looking pretty spotty
Odd what you find while digging about trying to find the name of the guy I sold it to, I have found 10 years of insurance certificates dating way back to my ownership.
Man that cost some money to insure as a youngster.
Just for interest, I did change the engine for a 3ltr V6 for a few years, man that was a beast and an insurance group 9 back then, almost the top level back then.
Oddly I had to go back to the Pinto as the insurance was too much year on year but it was fun at the time.
The Mission continues
