End of July to September is totally the wrong time of year, everyone is in holiday mode, spring is the best time so hang in there and try next spring or the small window of opportunity from September to December. Always avoid major holidays and expensive times of year, like summer holidays, (August), back to school (September), and Christmas, (December).
Try NOT to sell work, people don't like work and apart from the few who can, most can't do it anyway and we end up with another had to sell cheap project'
.
If it has; "Just a little needed to complete", then COMPLETE IT, even if it takes you away from the bloody TV for a few evenings and weekends and you loose your beer money for a couple of months, make the effort.
Try not to sell crap. crap we can get for free, even if it is a 'barn find' or in a back yard, drag it out, wash it, tidy it a bit and bin the rubbish in and around it.
Make your sales pitch interesting with a bit of history if possible and a full description, be honest. have a good look for those missing documents, they will make a sale easier if they are there, like the V5c etc.
If it is a Ford based car (Eagle chassis) and isn't registered don't be surprised it doesn't sell as it has to pass the SVA and takers will be thin on the ground to pay the 450.00 on top, (If it will pass, RVs are OK but SSs none yet).
And whatever you do, DO NOT break it, cut it up or scrap it. The whole point of the EOC is to try and avoid this, you can see from the register on the EOC site just how few cars are left and they are irreplaceable, rather try and GIVE IT AWAY than loose it forever. (Major brownie points to Brett for saving a SS).
As there just isn't a viable customer base for a commercial rescue plan or business (see TEAC)it is up to we individuals to do what we can to preserve these unique cars.
The lower the price the worst the effect, if our cars sold for a MINIMUM of £8,000.00 up to £20,000.00 then they would be queuing up for one but at £0 to £1,500.00 = total lack of respect.

p.s. and to anyone even thinking of buying one, it's a bit like a dog, they are not just for Christmas.
