Hi. My name is Dean and we've just bought an Eagle RV off EBAY and we should be picking it up on Sunday. My wife Tracy and our 12 year old twin boys are all very excited! I'm looking for a bit of guidance on what is best for installing rear seats (folding type would be ideal) and also about trying to locate a folding soft top for it. It already has a hard top but living in Exmouth, Devon, we obviously have to have a soft top option!!! ;-) Thank you in advance. All the best, DEAN

Hi Dean, pleased to see you found the forum and I hope you will take the time to put some info on your profile too. Mid life crisis, shucks, I'm still having mine 18 years on at 68

Hi Dean.
Another one in the South West! (I'm up near Bideford).
Ah, the diesel-powered beaut? At least it'll be more economical than most RVs...
I have a 'running project' of an RV - lots of ideas, a gathering of parts, but very little actual time to put the two together. It does get run every day, tho', mostly for taking ma wee girl to school - come rain or shine (with no doors or roof). Today was the first time in a few weeks I got properly wet; it's been just superb to drive in our current lovely weather - up until today.
One of the 'parts' I have bought for the car is a full set of Suzuki Vitara seats. I chose them because the 2 rear seats are separate and also fold completely up. Can't wait to get them fitted, although it will mean the fibreglass 'box' that's built in to the front floor to take seats will need cutting flat.
A few other similar vehicles have seats like these - various wee Suzuki & Honda 4X4s, the Toyota Rav4, etc. Do you have any decent scrapies around where you are?
My RV currently has a cut-down rear bench seat from a Renault, which came from the same donor as the fronts. They are mighty comfy, but don't fold.
Please start a 'build' thread and let's see what you're gonna do!

Thanks Scooby. The Vitara seats look just the job.
I'll try to be clever and start a build thread. Thanks a lot for your advice.

I know that we should be 'playing this cool' but we're getting the 'beast' dropped off later and we're all a little excited!!!

It's running, drives and has brakes. I'm hoping to take a better look over it today.

The guy who owned it previous to me, was a marine electrician (hence the interesting fuse board, junction box under the dash). He kept a record of how he re-wired it. It was all documented and I passed that to the buyer when I sold it to him. I hope that you got it too. John

Hi John.
I believe so as we've got a bundle of paperwork which I've still got to look through. I was fearing it was going to be a lot louder than it but it's OK. So far so good!
Thanks John

Hi John. I have checked and I have all that thanks.
It passed it's re-test yesterday and we took the roof off and went out 'cruising' around for a few hours last night. It was great fun. The boys and Tracy love it.
I've just got to convince Tracy that we can get rid of our normal car now! ;-)

Great news that it's back on the road. What is it described as on the V5c? I can't remember. I only used it for about a month after I bought it and then cleared off to the USA for 11 weeks. When I came home, the tax had expired and I never used it again. I remember the guy who bought it came along with his mate called Nick who had a RV with a Rover V8 in it. I think he lived in the Cromer area somewhere. Wonder if he's still got it?
