Hi Gaz, Welcome to the EOC forum, we hope you find it friendly and helpful, there is a wealth of experience within the membership, I myself have over 50 years mechanical and electrical experience, (the result of starting young and getting old, . Please have a poke about the forum, there are some interesting threads and a dedicated RV board and a project build board for when you get yours so you can tell us all about it. They did make a few 4X4 RVs and rumour has it the moulds are still about, a guy called Richard May had moulds for a Range Rover body from Eagle Cars in about 1990, unfortunately my best efforts have failed to locate them but from time to time one pops up on Ebay or on our 'For sale ' board. I do know the Ford based RV moulds have gone missing about 5 years ago as have the SS moulds, they disappeared to Wexford via Ebay a few years ago never to appear again. We don't have local meetings but if a bunch of you want to meet in a pub central to a few of you that would be great but we do meet at shows and do so at least four a year with the big ones being Stoneleigh, Exeter, Donnington and Newark, Stoneleigh is the BIG one of course and we are supposed to have our AGM there. Numbers have dropped in the past years but seem to be picking up again so I hope next year will see an upturn in attendances as well as finished projects, I can't talk, been YEARS but now I'm retired at least I don't have the excuse of work getting in the way, just life . Hope you stay with us and become an Eagle owner real soon, if I or another member sees one we will certainly tell you about it, have your cash to hand as they don't hang about in road going condition. It might be an idea to check the forum for RVs for sale and chase up the seller as they may still have it. Regards Peter p.s. David Martell's account of his RV is a good (long) read homepage.ntlworld.com/david.martell/eaglerv8.html

Hi Gaz. Stupid Q time... Given that most RVs are Cortina and Sierra based, how possible is it to use Sierra 4x4 mechanicals in an RV? There seems to be a steady trickle of these cars available - MOT-failures with rusted bodies - but possibly mechanically sound. Just as an example: www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/ford-sierra-xr-4x4-29-v6/1027124737 (Even has a Stainless exhaust)

Chaz did it on a SS and inboard discs to boot and the SS and RV 'Ford' chassis are the same.
