Why is it that someone starts a possibly interesting thread, gets a quick response from several members and then doesn't follow up at all ? Strange

Been stuck in the garage, trying to get the RV ready for Detling....hoping anyway!
Shocks on, wiring finished - little tidying up to do there, fit doors and seats and hard top for now, and seat belts and exhaust
Getting nervous that its so close
Must go round and check all the nuts and bolts though too
Post some more pics soon.......

I know what you mean, (like the Breeze thread), I do try to keep things going but there is only so much one can do,(horse, water drink) one does need a response to reply to. I even email past club members and board members but get little response..

Just to let you know I'm still chugging along with my SS i'm taking this coming monday and tuesday off to do more to it. I'm waiting on a call from a local place thats modifying my propshaft to see how much their going to sting me for that apart from that I need to move the engine forward very slightly because of the new geargox. I've started running pipes for petrol and brake fluid along the chassis which is all painted and rebuilt. there are some other little jobs to to as well before the body gets lowered back on but hopefully thats not too far off. I remember hanging a calendar at the back of the lockup just before I raised the body. I'm sure at the moment the calendar page is on February 2011 so thats how long the bodys been hanging up their. couldnt get to the calender to change it lol ...

still dont think it'll be ready for this year its getting to the stage where I need to start spending money ;D its needing wheels and tyres. it does have wheels but they dont suit the car. revolution alloys 4 or 5 spoke are my preference, its also needing a full interior and probably a paint job as the gel coats past it I think, unless anyone knows of any miracle products to make it shiny again ? just spotted a couple of eagles I havent seen before on Ebay, an RV and an SS. both pretty complete but sadly both apparently unregistered. I think if mine hadnt already been registered and equiped with a "Q" plate I wouldnt have bothered.

I have counted at least 20 Eagles that 'died' last year as a result of no V5c, not to mention those buggered up by over enthusiastic project owners or scrapped because of a cracked screen.

I think all Eagle models are soon going to become very rare
|
|
|
Post by Peter on Mar 8, 2012 13:36:49 GMT
They started off as rare, only 680 SSs to start with (50/50 VW & Ford) and half of them were scrape or dumped before the production ended in 1997 which is why so many have come to light lately on eBay having been found in barns, yards and garages, unfortunately half have either a Ford chassis and therefore will not be on the road or have cracked or no screens so £400 to kick of with. I would guesstimate only a hand full are even close to road legal and running with maybe 20 or so that could be or are in the process of rebuild. and as much as a dozen abroad including 3 in Spain, one in Czech republic, two in Scandinavia, one in Russia, two in France, one in Greece and one in Poland that I know of.

Hi Andy, welcome aboard, (even if in the wrong thread). I'm sure the folks in Eagle land will be hoping to see you and your RV at a show, if it's ready in April then Stoneliegh would be the next one, see shows link provided by our freinds at Stafford. www.s-v-c.co.uk/shows/

All CLUB members as opposed to FORUM members should have the password to the Members only board. if you don't then PM me or Roy for it.

How do we know the difference?
So there is a list of members?

IMHO If you have paid subs in the past and (should) have recieved a membership card with number (for insurence discounts etc) and password then you are an EOC member. If you registered on the Forum then you are a registered forum member. As has been clarified many times in the past, membeship of the Forum is not 'EOC club' membership. However some Forum members have been on for so long they 'should' qualify as members and as there have been no subs for a few years I think we should issue a membership card and number etc on application At least that's the way I see it. There is a list of members, in fact quite a lot of info, photos etc and stuff from Bob are on a CD that I handed over in 2006.

Hi, Re club membership, I joined the EOC, or what ever it was called in the early days, and was a member for several years. Then business took over and I garaged the SS for about 10 years. At one kitcar show I tried to join again and duly paid my membership fee but never received any membership card or any notification at all. I for one would be willing to pay for membership just to have the feeling of belonging to the club, as well as the discount that we would get at the insurance company etc.

I agree in that I wouldnt mind paying for at least belonging to the club, I've been a forum member for i think 3 or 4 years but never been a paid up member. Brett
