Today I decided to cut right down on my drinking . It will be interesting to see if I can do this ;D. Based on the fact that I have knocked back at least 2 litres of cider a night for the last 15 years or so my intentions have been met with derision from my friends . I am not doing this for the health benefits or so that I can remain coherent after 8pm or so that I get up before 10am every morning. Nope - I am doing it cos I am becoming a blubber belly & I want my food to taste nicer! (Yes, I know there is a slight conflict of interests there ). Yup - this will be an interesting experiment for me........I am already eyeing up the cooking sherry ;D ;D ;D

Hi Gary, Based on last night it will be a very temporary plan!! I am most disappointed that my belly was as big this morning as it was when I went to bed. I had the dilema all night of what I should drink instead of alcohol & ended up on diet lemonade . I stayed up as late as I would have & stayed in bed til gone 10am this morning. So the only diference was that I was bored all evening. Oh yeah - & I had a wierd dream too! It involved Chaz & Simon, for those that have met them. For some reason Simon had altered his hair so that it was styled in foot long spikes & bleached with black tips at the end of each spike. It looked ok from the front, but he hadn't done the back so that was its normal gingery curly self ;D. Not sure what the meaning of that dream was, except that I clearly needed alcohol............ Let's see what tonight brings

Really weird. Let's hope that you can stay on the wagon and that it was just withdrawal that will dimish in time.

Moodi..........is that really you Helen - I was told that completely cutting out the alcohol may not be the best way to go, but I find one drink generally leads to another..........hence I am generally the last person to leave a bar or a party as I simply stay til the beer has all run out ;D. Today I felt really wierd & lightheaded too. Anyway, I am settling down with a nice (not) glass of Lemonade again . Roy - I'll race ya to 7 stone (in weight!)

Sammss Knew it was a half hearted attempt hence the laughter. It's abit like asking fish not to p*** in the sea no chance ;D Roy by the looks of it that has cost you a small fortune and will probably cost you another to get rid of it so would stay the way you are if I was you. Sammss you are entertainment all the time not just for a day. As for the dream well what can I say errrr I think you know what I'd say so won't do so and keep my big mouth shut for a change Oh this is killing me No won't do it Bye Bye.

TKC, you are so cheeky. I have gone 2 days without alcohol (apart from the sherried mushrooms I had for tea tonight & they are allowed!). What is half hearted about that? I have saved myself nearly 1500 calories in two nights . I must confess I may go out Thursday, in which case it would just be rude not to drink, but so far I have been strong ;D Also I think you are just jealous that I didn't dream about you! Maybe if I have a big enough piece of cheese tonight I will........cheese gives you nightmares doesn't it

Sherri-ed mushrooms hummmm! 1 large bottle of sherry, two magic mushrooms from your preferred supplier (helped by your own 4 legged glue pot no doubt) and a bit of salad. No wonder you are having nightmares of ginger people ;D ;D ;D Don't think a whole bottle of cooking sherry with a few mushrooms counts as abstinence Sweet dreams I think not ;D

I was only cooking them in sherry cos I decided it was less fattening than butter . Well I am on the third evening of not drinking & I have decided that cider contains some kind of special nutrient that I am now missing from my diet. I wake up each morning feeling really ill

That'll be alcohol luv ;D I was thinking it was the apples I forgot to tell you about my dream last night ;D. I dreamt that the rest of the villagers had turned into zombies. Then I was so scared that I woke up & had to leave a light on for the rest of the night cos I was scared to sleep in the dark . Took me ages to get back to sleep too! There you are though TKC - dreaming about zombies is possibly as close as I can get to dreaming about you

I'm sure it's more than the 5 portions I need a day ;D Another good reason for me to cut back on my drinking........... Neighbours birthday at the weekend so we got together to celebrate, as you do. I don't remember this incident at all but, apparently, one of my guests mentioned how attractive her son's new teacher is, so I promptly wrote my phone number on a napkin with the message "Hi, Tracy says you are well fit. Here is my phone number" & gave it to the lad to pass on to his teacher. Fortunately Tracy felt a bit shy at the idea of his teacher knowing she thought he was sex on legs so she stopped him from carrying out his errand. As I say, I don't recall any of the above & I am sure they are making it up to support me with my non drinking regeime

TKC - you are a cheeky little oik!! I just asked a loada people what that meant......all my male friends got it straight away . I haven't given my number out for ages. Hmmm, cept to you I did know someone who used to give his number to everyone at parties & hope for a response. I just used to feel for the lasses that he was even chatting to them. Fortunately most sussed him out after a few minutes & moved swiftly on. He tried speed dating after that & felt well at home
