Now that Eagle cars are back on the road, you NEED to check your carbs, fuel lines, fuel pump, and anything that has a pipe connected to it from the carb'/ air filter.
Why, because E5, E10, E15 fuel rots all rubber components and destroys your carb'
And most rubber fuel lines will be the original ones from 1976 Cortina / V.W ( as mine are,) And put E5/10 through them, the rot can cause problems within 12 months in already OLD pipes. mine are 45 years old ! - I must change them shortly ( have replaced the fuel pump already ).
Use fuel stabiliser.

Very true and I spent a lot of time and money replacing the fuel lines in the BMW E30 although BMW said it would be OK. Also modern brake fluid seems to be very bad for rubber, my recent problems with the hydraulic clutch on the SS was due to clogged fittings from the flexible section, now replaced by solid copper. Fragola Premium Black Nylon Race Hose is one of the very few AN style hoses that are ethanol safe.

my recent problems with the hydraulic clutch on the SS was due to clogged fittings from the flexible section A common fault on Rolls Royce Silver shadows, Mk II ( I've had 3 of them ) the brake pipes were the same as your clutch. The flexible pipes blocked themselves, not because of the fluid, but because of poor selection of materials. Also, ( in case any one gets a Shadow I or II ) they both use different brake fluid, and put the wrong one in, you damage ALL the seals. - The "rat" box that controls ride height and other weird stuff, and brake seals an hoses. And not because the brake fluid is wrong ( unless you don't use the specified fluid ).
Anything rubber oriented hose that comes into contact ethanol, must be replaced every 2 years - 5 years.
see separate advice on another thread ( yet to be composed )
