Hi All, I'm restoring an Eagle RV which has a 2.0 litre Pinto with a 5 Speed Type 9 Gearbox. This box is a bit longer than the 4 speed and hence the propshaft needs to cope with a fairly extreme angle. The one that came with my project is scrap so I'll need to get one made. Anybody got any recommendations?
Thanks

even if you don't use Baily Morris
the pic below may be useful
and don't forget, when you go over bumps, the front yoke goes further into the gearbox.

If you can get maximum angle u/j's, if you measure it yourself be aware that it needs to be able to slide into and outwards on the splines. I made up some adjustable axle top links so I could tilt the front of the diff upwards to help with the angle, worked a treat.

Talk to the 3 firms I noted above.
Look at a cortina engine slant in a cortina. It is not horrizontal, it tips down at the rear.
When i built my automatic R.V. I cut the cross bar that mounts the gear box and angled the engine and box just a bit more than standard, thus aleviating the harsh angle of the propshaft. Problem solved.
Yes, it puts a bit more strain on the engine mountings, and depending on the use, just change the rubber engine mounts when deemed required. -- Or,, say to yourself, best replace those mounts after 7 years...... simple.
Standard UJ's with grease nipples prefered - if you can get them.
