Due to major reconstructive surgery on my leg my Eagle SS is for sale. It’s logbook says VW Eagle SS. So it’s on a standard 1971 number plate. It is a project as still needs a lot of work. However I’ve been driving it around in dry weather quite happily. More bad points than good, including the doors don’t fit very well. The interior therefore isn’t finished. The wiring is a mess. The seats will need recovering. It’s currently wrapped in black vinyl, this will need replacing or paint it instead. The windscreen is intact and the side windows on the doors fit well. It’s more reliable than the Rangerover. Tax and mot exempt, although I have had it mot’d in the past. Chassis was mint when I bought it, but as it’s winter parking was not ideal it needs a clean, I’m sure it looks worse than it is. I have a box of spare headlight bits and some other stuff I’ve not even looked at. Plus two more front wheels, tyres look unused, but they’re 20 years old so up to you what you do with them. I have a folder full of paperwork regarding it’s regi. It’s insurance is £57 for the year for myself. I’m sad to see it go, but I cannot finish it, and I can’t even drive it at the moment, so it needs someone to love it as much as I do. I’m looking for offers around £3,500 for it. I’m unable to drive for a couple more weeks but with proof of insurance I will sit next to someone for a test drive. My number is 07767 260101.

I know there are a couple of you guys looking for a SS to love and Annabells is a very good basis for a nice car. Maybe not 'just a couple of weekends to finish' but not a huge amount either. Annabell has popped it on the euro-*nove forum 'For Sale' as well.

Wasnt this ben herrons car, there is a build diary a fair few years ago by him on it which would show how good the car was/is. I remember he tried to keep it as original as possible.

Yes it was Ben’s. It’s practically the same except for the wrap and seatbelts out of a discovery to get it through the mot.

Hi Annabelle
I have read your adds on the face book page and am sad to hear that you need to sell your road going SS project due to personnel circumstances.
If i did not already have my Ford based SS currently in storage waiting further restoration and other projects i would be making contact with you to arrange to purchase your VW based SS. I was looking for a couple of years for a VW SS before buying my SS to go with my Nova.
Anyway all best on your recovery and hope all goes well.
Regards Mark
PS; If anyone is interested in buying an ongoing Ford based SS project please PM or contact me through here for further details as would sell to make way for Annabelle's SS but will only sell to an enthusiast.

Think ben gave me around £500 for this car,not sure what he has done to it to justify current owner hoping to get asking price.Paid £800 for the nasty matt black one that can be seen on youtube.Wish the current owner all the best.

I don't get it. time and time again we see people 'want' a Nova or SS or RV and when one pops up, a rare occurrence, they pick it to bits like there is a dozen to choose from. Every kit car and many production cars, are costumed to to owners taste so you will never find one that suits you, it will always need changing. so grab one whilst it is there and worry about the details later.
Remember, anything is worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

There are so few SS that come up for sale anymore, let alone a car that is on the road.
You might get really lucky and pick up a basket case for a few hundred quid, but Ive not seen one come up in years.
Annebelles car is good enough to just enjoy but is an excellent base if you want to build something special.
