I need to create a body support for the front of my SS. Previously, there was a sort of fork lift bolted on the front held in by the frame head bolts. I dumped that years ago as it was dangerous, the bolts had been lengthened by an inch by cutting and welding.
I have read on here that the better way to do it is use the captive nuts already in the front beam. How is this usually done. I would like something I can adjust to lower or raise the nose as required. Also, what thread size are those captive nuts? Thanks

Do you mean the two on the top of the beam? they are M8. x 1.25.
Raise or lower the nose? That's a new one, do you mean in relation to the chassis? I wouldn't reccomend that as the nose is faily solid as it is and any attempt to flex it upwards would result in major cracking.
The "forklift" bracket off of the fame head bolts is a common e¡way to barce the front but with a much thinner bar, I would go for 30 x 3mm use pan head bolts from underneath with nylok nuts over large washers in the boot You could also look at verticule side mounting braces along the bottom of the boot, also in 30 x 3mm steel strip, coming back to the front beam and a couple of 'UO' bolts, making sue to clear the anti-roll bar of course.
