Hi everyone. I need your guidance, I have put the SS over/onto the space frame that I will graft onto. Not withstanding a little jiggery pockery with the frame line up with the centre the wheel, I can't shake the feeling that the front wheel geometry is off with the engine mounting. What I mean to say in simple terms is, if the engine was a transverse engine that would be fine but a pinto type engine would I think be sitting right on top of the steering mechanisms. If this is the case it would explain why someone cut a big chunk out of the sort of scuttle to accommodate pushing the engine as far back as is possible to clear the steering rods. Has any one got any comments to put me straight. (You will see what I mean when I do my webinar for the Facebook page tomorrow) Happy building Steve

The cut out in the scuttle is standard on all SSs to accommodate the rocker cover. There are three bonnets to my knowledge.
The front of the engine does sit over the steering as in a Cortina as it uses the std, Cortina sub-frame..

Thank you Peter That's why they had the high stance. Now I need to engineer a way around it. Thanks again.

Steve Been done on 'standard' chassis, body set ups by short springs, retainer straps (or shorter dampers) etc but on a different chassis? God only knows, good on biology but he is no mechanic.
