Welcome. Is the engine in the front or the back. If its in the back, it will be based on the VW Beetle which you can register on a points system. If its in the front, it will be ford based and will likely need an IVA to get it on the road. There have been a few ford SS for sale lately which have been stripped for their Ford parts. You may be able to get a second car which is registered and make one good one out of the two.
Was this the car that was in Dalkeith?

I dont know much about getting an Eagle SS through the IVA as I don't think anybody has attempted it. There are are some serious pitfalls that will be a challenge to overcome such as the hight of headlights, seating position and headroom.
If it was me, I would look for a registered car and build one good one from the two. You could try and find out if yours has ever been on the road, might be able to get the log book if it has.
There are definitely a few out there that are registered beyond repair and for sale. Keep your eye out

All the best with your project. If it's a MkII it will have a separate nose section like a Porsche 928, (same as headlight pods). ANY kit that has the minimum 8 points but without a registration number (donor) it will still need a test. ONLY if you have a reg number from the donor AND can clam 8 points of original parts from the donor can you skip the test. Unregistered Ford version certainly will even with donor reg. as none standard chassis. Front engine gives more scope for mods and crazy power trains but back end breaks away very easy, unless engine up front gearbox/transaxle at rear. As the guys said too many Eagles, RV and SS, have been lost to the Ford people for parts, in fact so have the VW ones as they consider the 'plastic body' a throw away item, not considering the historical significance at all. . I used to get all up tight when a SS was lost but as anyone who REALLY wants a SS can get a new body kit it's not that bad. Just expensive.

Hi, I don't know if it will be any help but I am currently running an SS build on a face book site. Eagle SS build. I'm self taught do not have fancy equipment and get it wrong from time to time which may save you some heart ache. This weeks item is looking if my idea of grafting a space frame chassis onto the SS will work. I hope you have as much fun and fascination on your build as I am having. Enjoy and keep the faith. Just to let you know, in tomorrow's webinar I have lifted the SS onto/over the frame I will graft it on too. I have identified a potential problem with the front wheel geometry. Might be worth a watch. Happy building
